Hold Your Breath My Darling
WARNINGS: angst, like super angst, lovesick and whipped Spencer, earlier seasons Spencer, Hotch trained reader, Ex spy, fem reader, dying (or coming close to it), panic attacks, typical criminal minds violence... there will be a part two soon, please let my know if I am missing anything else
The BAU team arrived at the small town of Crescent Hills, ready to investigate a series of gruesome murders. The victims all shared similar physical characteristics. The team quickly realized that the killer was targeting women who looked exactly like you, the same hair, the same eyes and somehow personality, which had to be the scarriwst part of them all.
As the team discussed their next move, Spencer couldn't help but stare at her. She was the spitting image of the victims, but she seemed unfazed by the situation. In fact, she suggested that she pose as bait in order to catch the killer. She was the agent her mentor made her, because Hotch would have done the same in a heartbeat. Yet as Hotch looked at the young woman standing at his side, standing tall and holding her head high with pride and bravery, wearing a mask of calmness hiding her whirlwind of emotions with quite the efficiency.
Spencer's heart skipped a beat at the thought of his best friend putting herself in danger. His hands shook with dread and anxiety and his mind raced to a million directions as his heart seemed to weight a few tons more than usual. He was so confused. He had always seen her as a friend, but in that moment, he couldn't deny the intense feelings he had for her. Yes he had always cared for her, and wouldn't wish any harm in her way, but at this moment he desperately wished to have been the genius he claimed to be, to find a way out of this, to solve this without any one getting hurt, to keep her safe and alive and well next to him, hoping she felt even a sliver of the intesity of his emotions. He knew he couldn't let her go through with this plan. He had to act quickly, not caring if he embarrassed himself in the process.
"You can't do this, it's too dangerous," Spencer pleaded with the her, his eyes shining with unshead tears as he saw her walking in her hotel room, trying to make herself more appealing for the UnSub.
"I can handle myself, Spencer," she replied confidently."Do not worry. I have been trained from the best." She whispered as she lightly hugged him and kissed his cheeks and the storm raging inside of him seemed to calm down for a few short seconds.
But Spencer couldn't shake off the feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach. He couldn't bear the thought of losing her. He had been so focused on his work and solving the case that he hadn't even realized his true feelings for her until now. As the team set up a plan, Spencer couldn't help but keep a close eye on the Reader. He couldn't let her out of his sight. But as she put herself in harm's way, Spencer's heart was in his throat
The warehouse was quiet, the ominous shadows twisting around the corners like specters waiting to strike and fear started clawing its way to her heart. Derek Morganâs voice echoed in her mind; âYouâre one of us, kiddo. Trust your instincts.â But in this moment, trust felt like an anchor dragging her deeper into despair.
She was second guessing herself now as well as her abilities. Maybe she had made a mistake. She had volunteered without hesitation, knowing the stakes were high. A string of brutal murders had terrorized several towns, and the Behavioral Analysis Unit needed to understand what made this killer tick. But she had never expected that the very thing she sought to uncover would entrap her instead.
As she stepped deeper into the warehouse, darkness enveloped her like a suffocating blanket. The cold was biting, but the fear coursed through her veins like ice. She had set off the sound of a chilling recording, a mocking lure that had been crafted specifically for the UnSub. The air was alive with tension, every creak of the old metal structure amplifying her dread.
âJust breathe,â she murmured to herself, but her heart raced faster with every passing second. Somehow, despite the adrenaline's flow, she felt an unsettling calm, as if her body was preparing for something inevitable.
She thought of the team back at the BAU. Hotch would be analyzing their data, Emily and Derek keeping their wits about them, and as she closed her eyes, she could almost hear Spencer Reidâs gentle voice. He was always a soothing presence, with his deep well of knowledge and quirky sense of humor.
âRemember when I tried to teach you how to play chess?â he whispered in her mind, a memory flooding back. They had been at a coffee shop breaking down a case when she had confided that she hadnât learned the game as a child. With a persistent twinkle in his eye, he taught her the basics, patiently explaining the rules as she fumbled through the moves. They laughed when she mistakenly thought pawns could move diagonally anytime.
In this dark warehouse, she recalled how he had once said, âYou have to think several moves ahead. In chess, just as in life.â She held onto that wisdom now, fighting to stifle her panic.
The quiet was shattered by footsteps echoing through the maze of crates and rusted metal. She steeled herself, adrenaline rushing through her as the UnSub emerged from the shadows. He was a tall figure, cloaked in darkness, his face obscured by a mask that sent a shiver down her spine.
âWelcome,â he said, his voice low and taunting. âIâve been waiting for you.â
She fought the surge of terror that threatened to overwhelm her. How? How had he been expecting her? She was a trained spy for the love of God, before joining the BAU, had she rusted her abilities this quickly? It had only been five years. Five wonderful, free years.
She couldnât falter. In her mind, she anchored herself to another memory: a sunny afternoon with Reid. They had shared ice cream on a picnic blanket, debating the best flavors like children. He had quipped that pistachio was underappreciated, while she insisted on the classic chocolate chip cookie dough.
âYouâre practically a gourmet, arenât you?â she teased, and his laugh had brightened that day, sunlight dancing in his eyes.
But now, there were no sunny picnics; shadows danced along the walls as the UnSub advanced towards her. She could see glimmers of rage flickering in his eyes, an intensity that struck fear into her heart.
âLetâs see just how strong you are,â he hissed, gripping her arms in a vice-like hold. She gasped as pain shot through her, but even as she winced, she summoned the memory of Reid, who had taught her the importance of mindfulness in the face of fear.
âLeave me alone!â she shouted, fueling her resolve with every ounce of anger she could muster.
But he laughed, a cruel sound that sent tremors of dread through her. The sharpness of reality cut through her feelings of safety, and she swallowed hard, desperately piecing together scattered memories, trying to fund the best course of action but it was already to late. She felt sluggish and slow, something was wrong.
She tried to find the good memories, to find courage and strength, such as Reidâs infinite patience, his love for obscure trivia, the whimsical way he could make her smile even in the darkest of moments.
âYour game is over,â the UnSub snarled, his breath hot against her skin.
As he began to carry out his twisted intentions, she closed her eyes tightly, conjuring one last memory, one that radiated warmth in the encroaching darkness. The night Reid had confessed his fears of inadequacy, only to find solace in their bond, his fingers grazing hers in comforting reassurance, his eyes reflecting the kind of understanding that only comes from empathy.
âIâm not afraid,â she whispered, even as fear clawed at her soul. âNo matter what happens, Iâm not afraid. I will not give you the satisfaction of the perfect murder, trust me it will be a fight to bring me down.â
"Oh, but you have already lost. I think you must be feeling it be now."
Her heart pounded with the realization that she might not escape. But in those harrowing moments, as she fought against the loop of pain and despair, she anchored herself in the love and camaraderie of her teamâevery shared laugh, every overcoming of hardship. No matter what happened, they would carry her spirit forward.
In those last flickers of consciousness, she thought of Spencer, his brilliance, his laugh, and the unyielding strength of their bond. She hoped he would forgive her for failing to bring him the answers they so desperately needed, all while holding onto the belief that even the darkest of nights must give way to dawn.
With that thought, she embraced the memories that would never fade, hoping they would echo in the hearts of those she loved, a reminder that even in their darkest hours, they could find light.
Then the darkness came.
The cold grip of fear tightened around Spencer Reid's heart as he stood in the dimly lit acting conference room of the BAU, a small desk office of the local police station. The air was thick with tension and the weight of impending decisions that could alter their fates. He paced the floor anxiously, running a hand through his tousled hair while his mind raced with worst-case scenarios.
âGuys, we canât go through with this,â he implored, turning to face his team, his voice a tremor of desperation. âThe unsub is more unpredictable than we anticipated, and we canât risk her life. What ifââ
âItâs not just about her,â Derek Morgan countered, crossing his arms. âThis mission aims to take down a dangerous criminal. We need to act fast before he slips through our fingers again.â
âBut what if he targets her, Morgan?â Spencerâs voice escalated, echoing in the room. âI've analyzed his patterns. If sheâs involved, sheâs at extreme risk. We canât afford to lose her!â
Emily Prentiss, caught between the mounting urgency and Reidâs grave expression, glanced at the other agents. âWe have to trust our instincts, Spencer, but you know we all understand the risk involved. We can deploy a secondary team to protect herââ
âNo!â Reid snapped, panic threading his tone. âYou donât understand. I canât shake this feeling. What if this is a trap? She shouldnât be there. We need to stop this. We need to call it off.â
The room fell silent as his pleas hung in the air, but time was running out, and the team had a job to do. With reluctant determination, they gathered their gear and left the conference room, unknowingly walking into the lionâs den.
Spencerâs heart raced as he followed them, a whirlwind of dread washing over him. They arrived at the location of the suspected meeting and quickly fanned out, but dread settled deeper in his chest as time ticked away.
Minutes felt like hours, and Reidâs worries morphed into a nightmare. Suddenly, over the comms, a shout broke through the chaos, and panic pierced the stillness. âSheâs down! Sheâs down!â
Spencerâs instinct kicked in, but it felt like running through molasses as he pushed past his teammates. His breath quickened dramatically. He reached the scene, and there she wasâHer body lay still against the cold asphalt, pale and lifeless.
Everything around him blurred as the sirens wailed in the distance, blending into an agonizing scream that reverberated in his mind. He dropped to his knees beside her, an overwhelming despair crashing down like a tidal wave. âNo, no, noâŠâ he chanted, disbelief coursing through him as the realization sank in.
He placed his hands on her chest, feeling the emptiness where her spirit should have been. âStay with me. Please,â he whispered, tears streaming down his cheeks as he started CPR. Each pump felt futile, desperation fueling his actionsâA metronome to the rhythm of her fading heartbeat.
âCome on, please! Breathe, breathe!â Spencerâs voice cracked as he pressed harder, not willing to accept the undeniable truth standing stark against realityâa truth that seemed to throng his senses.
Suddenly, strong hands pulled him backward. âSpencer, let the medics handle this,â a voice shouted through the fog of his anguish. It was Morgan, trying to wrestle him back to reality.
âNo! I canât! I wonât let her go!â Reid screamed, thrashing against the hold, fighting against the gravity of grief. But the world around him was collapsing, everything turning hazy, the wail of the sirens growing louder, drowning him in despair.
âSpencer!â Morganâs voice cut through the fog, but it felt distant, as if coming from underwater. He was pulled away from the scene, from her cold body that lay so still. The agents moved in, the medics began their work, but Reid felt as if a piece of himself was being torn apart, the agonizing reality sinking its teeth deeper into his soul.
He fell to his knees, the weight of his failure crashing into him like a heavy stone, unyielding and unforgiving. Tears streamed down his face as he watched helplessly, the ache in his chest mimicking a gaping wound.
Desperation clawed at him as he realized that no amount of pleading or data could bring her back. And in that moment, the chaos of the world faded away, and all he knew was a profound loss that reverberated through every fiber of his being.
And then the impossible happened. She was still bleeding, covered in deep cuts by a knife that would scar her for life. Yet her chest lifted lightly before falling down.
Once.
Twice.
He was sure he was dreaming of it. His mind playing a trick on him, not being ready to register his life without her existence.
But no.
It was true. She was breathing.

Cardiophilia is so weird bc one minute you're like "this is fine this is okay nothing to see here, folks" and then the next minute you're reminded that the combination of G force, nerves, adrenaline, ect, makes an F1 driver's heart rate stay steady around 160-200 beats per minute the entire time they're racing and then I remember this isn't fine this isn't okay, there is a LOT to see here, folks.
#cardiophilia#cardiophile#i know i know im disgusting i already know you dont have to tell me#just fascinates me how STRONG their hearts have to be to withstand.#i know they do all that training specifically for their hearts too and its like help me ive fallen and i cant get up#i have a panic attack if my heart rate is over 120 for any extended period of time i couldnt imagine#just goes to show another little thing i doubt people think about when they start making fun of and badmouthing these drivers

Do You Love?
Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen x wife!reader
Summary: Feyd is soft for his wife and only wants to know if she loves him. His wife just wants him to come home.
Notes/Warnings: fluff and a little angst and very light smut (still 18+), softy-soft Feyd, probably could do with a wedding prequel if people were interested, im sure there are typos. I think that's it.
Words: 1400
Feyd-Rautha Masterlist
He hates being away from you. Can't bear it. It takes less than two days for withdrawal from your lack of presence to settle in, and when it hits, it hits hard. The luminescence of your smile that threatens the darkness within him on his worst days; the delicate suppleness of your skin that introduced him to the softness and warmth of a human body; the specific quality and tone of your voice when you whisper and whimper and moan in his earâhe needs it. He needs you. He craves you until the second youâre in his arms again. He just wishes he could understand if you feel the same. He wishes he could know if you love him as much as he does you.
When you came into his life, you were a pawn for peace. A gift from one Great House to another. A reluctant bride who couldnât choke back her tears on her wedding day. Heâll never forget the saltiness that lingered on his lips after the kiss that bound you to him forever. He can still feel the pang in his heart from seeing you finch when he guided the strap of your nightgown off your shoulder.Â
It took ages for you to shed your fear; to allow him to hold you and kiss you and be inside of you, but those many months of âtwo steps forward, one step backâ have left him in a paralyzing state of identity crisis and uncertainty. Youâve turned him into a man who begs for scraps of reassurance that you care for him rather than a man who shows no mercy for love; a man so preoccupied with thoughts of his wifeâs affection that not even his enemies are granted his full attention as he watches the light drain from their eyes.Â
From the moment he leaves, he anticipates his return so you can quell his agitation, at least to some degree. The same words echo in his head each time he steps off a Harkonnen ship to search for youâhug me, hold me, kiss me, let my body inside of yours, tell me you love meâand in recent months you havenât failed to do those things, with the exception of the last request. The day you tell him you love him will be the day he stops fearing you'll eventually grow bored with him. On that day, heâll be happy, at peace. Heâll be unafraid of what his future with you will bring.
â
Reader POV
He often goes to Arrakis for a week or two, thatâs not new. He must monitor things and fight Fremen when necessary. However, this time was different. There was something foreign in his eyes after he kissed your palm and boarded his ship to depart. Sadness? Pain? Worry? All three? You didnât know, but it terrified you from how little he tried to disguise it. With each departure, itâs seemed his mood has worsened and you can't decipher its cause.
Now, ten days later, your fingernails are worn to nubs and dark circles have found home under your eyes from nightmares interrupting your sleep. Theyâre different every night but they always end with Feyd not coming home to you, and you donât know how to cope. You tell yourself youâre crazy, that thereâs no possibility of him being taken down with a Fremen knife or gobbled up by a sandworm or blown to bits from his ship getting shot out of the sky. Heâs too smart, too quick, too trained for such things to claim his life. At the same time, however, the last person whose death you dreamt of was your motherâs, and while itâs rare your dreams are prophetic, that one came to fruition not five days later. Who is to say your dreams of your husband are not the same?
But you canât lose Feyd, not when it feels like you just got him. When you married, your dread of navigating a new husband and life on Giedi Primeâboth of which have a reputation for being cold and desolate and harshâcrippled your ability to see him for who he is. Itâs only been the last few months that youâve let yourself love and understand him, and you canât imagine a reality in which you wake one morning knowing you will never have him again. You wouldnât survive it.Â
But you won't have to, because he's fine, perfectly safeâthat's what you tell yourself. He told you he wouldnât be away long and he wouldnât say that unless he believed it, right?
Then again, believing he would be home soon doesnât mean fate agrees. What if he's already gone? Wait, no. No, he wouldn't do that to you. He'll be home because he always makes it home. Heâs fine. Heâs safe. He would never leave you. You nod to yourself, swallowing hard. Heâs fine. Heâs safe. He would never leave. Heâs fine. Heâs safe. He would never leave.
--
Your body curls into the first touch of warmth youâve had in a week and a half as a heavy weight rests in the dip of your waist and tugs you against a solid form. Plush lips ghost your temple. A heartbeat thrums in your ear and you feel the rise and fall of a chest.Â
Oh, you like this dream. Heâs so real in this dream. Itâs the first dream where death is not at his heels.
âYou donât know how I miss you,â he mutters into your ear. Stands of your loose hair brush back from your face. âHow unbearable it is.â
His voice is so clear, so beautiful and vivid that itâs almost like heâs really with you. Humming contently, you huddle further into him. âThen stop leaving me,â you mumble.
Breath catches in his chest, no longer moving at a steady rhythm. âYou're awake?â
Your brows knitâthat's not a very âdream-likeâ question; it threatens your lovely illusionâand then your eyes snap open.Â
âFeyd?â His nose is an inch from yours. Your hand raises to cup his cheek, just to see if he is real, and you gasp at how warm his skin is under your palm. âYou're here,â you cry, quickly pushing him onto his back and crawling on top of him.Â
You press your lips to his, hard. A whimper is pulled from your throat when he parts his mouth so you can get a taste of his tongue. Yes, heâs definitely real.Â
Hands trail down your back to your ass, squeezing two handfuls of flesh and pushing your pelvis down onto his. Heâs already hard and thick and pressing into you, the matching thin material of your nightgown and his sleep pants doing a pathetic job of maintaining any sort of barrier.Â
Feyd slowly drags the ink-toned silk up the curves and dimples of your body until it pools at your waist. Fingers graze your skin as they move lower to slide through your slick bare folds, and at his touch, your brain goes absolutely fuzzy. Youâre unashamedly desperate, refusing to take any longer to get what you need, but when you finally free him from his pants and he thrusts up into you, you both find yourselves stopping. The kiss breaks and you simply breathe in each otherâs breaths as he stays nestled deep inside you.Â
Your forehead falls to his. A fresh tear that you hadnât noticed in your eye lands on his cheek. âYou're ok,â you gently whimper, reassuring yourself of his safety. His nose nudges yours.
âWhen am I not?â he whispers as he catches the next tear with his thumb before it drops from your lower lashes.Â
âIn my nightmares.â
His brow pinches in curiosity, cock twitching within your walls. âYou dream about me?âÂ
You lightly nod. âI thought this was a dream.â
âWhy?â
âBecause I had a sickening feeling you werenât going to make it back this time. I know it was a routine trip, but I just couldnât shake it,â you say. âAnd that wouldâve killed me, Feyd. I love you.â
Feyd sucks in a short stream of air as his hips slightly buck up against yours. âYou love me?â he repeats.
âYes,â you exhale, riding the little high of pleasure that came from the sharp involuntary shift of his hips. âI was so scared to be right.â
Feyd's arms tighten around you and he tilts his chin up to connect your lips. Kisses travel along the line of your jaw and down the length of your neck. His tongue dips into the hollow of your throat.Â
âI love you,â he tells you.
Your stuffy chuckle settles into a grin. âI know you do.â

Kinda hate you, kinda love you . . . âĄ
(⧠Ë.) PAIRING-> James "Logan" Howlett {A.K.A} Wolverine x Reader >_< (⧠Ë.) SUMMARY -> Being an X-men was a lot for you to sign up for. Well.. you didn't have a chance to deny this safe haven. The school became your home and the people that made up the X-men like a weird little familial unit. You had many reasons for staying as long as you did, but one was more prickly and jaded. The feelings you harbored for a stern and calloused Logan were.. weird for you to feel firsthand. One day, you are stuck overlooking a danger room drill between Gambit and Logan. With the new member of your world-saving team Jubilee by your side, it's too dull to NOT talk with each other. She was a good kid, hyperactive and spirited that's for sure. You talk, and talk a lot you do to the human embodiment of the fourth of July. It makes you think a little bit too hard about yours and Logans... predicament. (⧠Ë.) AUTHORS NOTE -> Hiii!!! This is my first time writing stuff for Logan so - bee tee dubs it may be complete and utter horse shit. I'd like to thank @velvrei for helping me ignite some well-dead thoughts. Genuinely love ur work sm and reading that and a lot more new/old logan content helped TONS. This is linked to the {âĄx-men animated series/x-men97âĄ} series. I do wanna write more for the Deadpool timeline xmen/early 2000s timeline xmen!! But after seeing the masterpiece that is Deadpool and Wolverine, I lowkey just clung to those shows. I love animated Logan!! He is even more emotionally stunted/sassy sad!! (⧠Ë.) CWS (?) -> Logan nd u are sad ppl who don't know how to voice ur feelings!! , pining from afar/one-sided not so one-sided yearning, UHM HURT/KINDA COMFORT??? MAYBE??? I THINK??? , unprompted suggestiveness from logan , mentions of struggling to connect with other ppl/fears of the future (bay bay jubilee my love) , u and Jubilee just kinda bond, off topic idk cajun dialect so..... , and u infodump as a weird suto older sister/mom in her life, this was all very spur of the moment so uhm - not proofread!!! kinda!!!!!!!
The dangeroom was a room a lot of the X-men team spent their time in. To either train for a new threat or for general movement, drills were a common theme. Especially after world-shaking events, which were always somehow a constant, the professor was the equivalent of an alarm clock. Drills this, always having to run down into the war room. You didn't mind the training sessions if it was one-on-one or even with the whole team. Sometimes though, it was almost nagging.Â
Though there were little things you'd do to pass this time. If you were made to overlook it or otherwise. Most of the time there didn't need to be supervision within the training center itself. Everyone was on high alert, and off days were few and far between. Logan had been hashing it out with Gambit all morning and wanted to do a specific procedure setting. You held your head in your hands as you sighed at the grown men's demands. Gambit was a professional sweet talker, Logan wasn't when needed. Of course, you complied, understanding the sudden want for more extensive training. When Jubilee volunteered you started to not loathe the idea of sitting in on Logan and Gambit - literally butting heads.Â
Jubilee was a nice kid, you felt bad for her sudden entrance into life within the school. The professor was welcoming as always. With your push and her foster parents wanting her to be safe from threats like the sentinels, she was a bonified member.
Being the "newbie" always had its drawbacks. From day one you made sure to have her back, you could relate to her whole fish-out-of-water point of view. Logan saw the way you attached fast to the kid. He was like a vault of thoughts and feelings. Thoughts and feelings he never wanted to bring up or even let alone talk about. But it made your heart flutter just a tad when he sat his hand on your shoulder, gently rubbing a thumb against it.
He had stopped you before you were about to retire to your room. In the doorway to your personal, pillow escape he made sure to reel you down to earth. "Give the kid some breathing room. I know you want to help but there's no use for you smothering her."
You were almost baffled. What was he going on about? You were just looking out for her? Deep down, you did know what he meant. He might have not been a long-term X-Men member. But he did know you and the fragments of "memories" you held so dearly close to your chest. You two were so different and yet one in the same. Before you could even argue, he gave you a small .. somewhat comforting pat on said shoulder. "Just a friendly word of advice bub, don't take it so close to heart. Oh wait, that's inevitable." He joked at you with his signature toothy grin. You couldn't help but scoff in surprise and laughter as he jabbed at you with his SINGULAR witty remark.
Logan could be many things. Rough around the edges, even a total asshole when he felt like it. But to you, he was your kryptonite. It was pathetic the way you'd always eventually be pulled to bend at that man's every word. He just did that to you, and you had no answer to it.Â
Making your way up to the upper room with Jubilee, you watched with tired eyes as the door to the observation room slid open. Cold - walls and floor head to toe with this sleek metal texture. There were two chairs, right behind the control panel where the training sequence(s) would be initiated. Your eyes were trained on the window as you watched Gambit and Logan make their entrance inside the training room itself. Gambit of course was rapidly shuffling a deck of cards. They were almost flying in the palms of his hands as he prepared them. Logan was of course blabbing his big mouth, in his signature suit "lumbering up" as he would call it. Finally, as you just now sat your bottom into the smooth-cushioned observation chairs, Jubilee was already starting the conversation. Thank god for you as you were still shaking the morning off of you."So what? , we just watch them throw around with each other, or what?" She cracked with a curious glance at the two men down below. You rested your chin in the palm of your hand as you leaned back. "Pretty much, we're here just in case the system doesn't shut down in time. Sometimes it does that."
She paused before she gave you a pointed look, her chunky pink sunglasses almost falling off of her black head of hair. "We're babysitting them!?" She retorted with a sort of faux annoyance. "I mean it's 'something' to do but - come on...." She groaned as she crossed her arms, heavy in on the air quotations. Cutting in, you directed your hand to the control panel. "No no no, not just that.â
Gathering your thoughts, you pointed out each scenario on the deck. You couldn't help but crack a smile at Jubilee's small "ohs" and "ah's". With the development, you two were brought into a nice steady stream of conversation. Hunched in her seat, yellow boots crinkling in this position, she poked and prodded you about your style and so on. it was nice to be looked at with such idealization. Her eyes were huge with wonder as she jumped to questions and searched for answers. Though it was only so nice until the two of you were interrupted by the impact of a card deck. As it smacked against the window, you pinched the bridge of your nose.
Hitting the intercom, you cleared your throat. "So sorry gentlemen! You two ready or what?" You retorted as you leaned over the panel. Gambit gathered back the cards into his hands. "Me? , 'course cher! Any day I would love to stick it to da fuzz ball over der." He remarked with a scheming smirk. Logan growled as his claws immediately sprouted from his knuckles. "I'll show you fuzz ball you pest." His lip curled up almost like a predator ready to pounce.
Jubilee sat back quiet as a mouse as she watched you talk through to the two. "Alrighty alright! Save the pouncing for later." You barked with a small chuckle at the end. You couldn't help but feel buzzy at the way Logan reared his head up. Gambit was too busy swapping cards from hand to hand. But all of Logan's attention was just on you, it was always just on you.
"Okay, how are we feeling about the ruined city for today?" You asked the two as Gambit started to twirl a card in between his middle and pointer fingers. "Yes yes yes, dat will do just nicely, right Wolvie?" He asserted - training a hard on the hard-headed "foe." Logan's voice was low and gruff as he found his stance. "Don't get so ahead of yourself Gamby." He retorted as he turned back to you in the window. "Start it up doll, before this one here loses all of his spice." He barked with a laugh as Logan jostled his mask on. You rolled your eyes with a faint smile. "If you say so, bee-tee-dubs .. don't kill each other! Please and thank you." You affirmed as the array of buttons were clicked. As the scenery shifted into a torn-down cityscape, foes were already on the two men. The only fun thing about watching over the training sessions was getting to watch fellow X-Men in action. Just not with the risk of losing your life in the process. Leaning back into your chair, you took in a nice breath of air. Peace, for now at least. Jubilee sat up more straight, letting her bright yellow duster-like jacket collect at the sides of her chair. She brought her legs to her chest as both you and she watched Gambit and Logans fighting. You could feel her eyes wander to you in the quiet. You looked directly towards her, a sympathetic smile gracing your face. "How are you feeling?" Your voice was small but warm, comforting almost. This was the first time someone had even really asked her. "I don't know... it's like everything is just changing at once. I feel like a big Rubix cube." She said with a frown as she got more comfortable where she sat. You nodded your head in almost remembrance. "Trust me, becoming an X-men isn't the hardest part. It's living like one." Admitting with a soft sort of comfort, Jubilee was already warmer than before. The training session flew by as you two just talked and talked. She lamented about what life would be like now, what she would and wouldn't miss. How she was stripped of living like a normal teenager. "I mean everyone here has already been so nice to me, but this is just gonna take a lot of getting used to. ", she would lament to you in honesty. You tried to be as insightful as possible. Telling her that living as an X-men will always be tricky. But there will always be the people around here that'll keep you steady. Her ears perked up when you listed off your so-called "anchors." She immediately butted in after you listed off the Wolverine himself, Logan. "That guy? You two seem to be always at each other's throats?" She cracked at you with an inquisitive grin. "Well I mean yeah - he can be .. overly confident a lot of the time." You were almost reminding yourself. You didn't realize how long you spent talking about your scruffy metal-clawed 'friend.' You went on and on about how he combated with you in the best possible ways. How with his time in the X-Men, he opened up your worldview in many instances. He did so much to you and for you. He was almost like your escape in a way, and he maybe shared the same view. You didn't get into the nitty-gritty details of it, 'cause ew. But the moments away from daily life hecticness within the school you and he shared were your favorite. His arms were the sweetest embrace anyone could ask for. But that's what friends do, that's what friends are for.
Though you always wondered if maybe you were wrong. Maybe you were holding on to nothing. Maybe there was an intimate connection between you two hiding under the surface. But you had a track record of getting your hopes up. You dashed those daydreams away as Jubilee yanked you back down into the now of things. Time flew by as the training sequence ended. Logan was immediately gloating his way out of the danger room. You and Jubilee met the two halfway. Gambit sang your high praises as he lamented about kicking Logan's ass in the drill. As the two grown men bickered Jubilee made her exit known. Since the professor was already summoning them all to the war room. Gambit waved you off with a small wink and another grand shuffle of his cards. Which just left you and logan ... fun.Â
He quirked his brow in your direction as he realized your quiet demeanor. âCan you believe the guy? - come on bub you saw me!â He said in astonishment at Gambit's gambit tendencies. You crinkled your nose in a small giggle. If you were seeing straight, you couldnât help but notice a small dash of a smile on Logan's face once he saw your mood brighten. His smile always found ways to make your knees weak and arms all jelly. âYeah yeah, dont get your panties in a twist Lo.â You said with a twinkle in your eye. A grin followed spreading almost ear to ear.
His eyes softened ever so slightly with your jokes. He grumbled out his poorest joke yet. âOh, Iâll show you.â He retorted before yanking you into him. Your back met his chest plate as you felt his collection of sweat. His muscled arms wrapped around your midsection as he whirled you around like a windmill. You ignited with laughter and âyucksâ as you felt his sweat spreading onto you. You fought out his hold with a grimace and a sheepish chuckle, wiping your eye. âChrist man, you got all your .. muck on me!â
By now his claws were already dashed away. So his hands were now placed on his hips. He rolled his eyes as he looked you up and down. âCome on, youâll live to see another day shrimpy.â He claimed with his eyes slowly wandering. âI look like a wet dog thanks to you.â You frowned jokingly, shaking your arms out. âOn and on with you.â He remarked once again with his eyes rolling AGAIN soon after.
Closer and closer the two of you got as you both threw phony insults back and forth. Before your lips were inches away from one another. He drawled his quick mouth up and spat back something that would leave your mind in utter⊠shock. Was confusion the right word? âDonât play around with me, dimples. I know youâd like more than just my arms around you.â You quickly gasped out the pocket of air you were holding onto. A long pause was felt throughout the hall before you two darted in separate ways.
âI need to change!â You sheepishly shouted as you headed in the opposite direction of him. He did the same, mumbling whatever under his breath. âDonât slip and fall!â He coughed out as you rubbed your face in annoyance. âEat shit, Logan!â , âThatâll be a long time coming!â The both of you remarked to the other in unison. Both of your voices share the same sort of flustered frustration. You raced into the showers as you soon stumbled towards the sinks.
You splashed your face with cold water as your heart was still racing. Your cheeks were burning up let alone from his words. But you were soon able to catch up with your breath. Regaining your composure you looked yourself in the mirror. Gritting your teeth as you looked at the fool Logan made you. The Wolverine could be a hard-headed buffoon. Always on his way to making a snide insult with whichever X-men member was disagreeing with him. But god damn it was he your poison. You hated him and he hated you. That was the thing that kept you steady as you changed into uniform and raced towards the ongoing meeting. You knew that same smile still lingered on your face once you made your entrance into the war room. Able to brush off the team's sudden accusations as you made sure to remind everyone about the issue at hand. The Professor thanked you as he went back to discussing what new threats plagued human life. Your eyes always made their way back to Logans with small lingers. Making eye contact with you, his eye-line was diverted by you as you turned your attention back to the professor. The Wolverine was a fool, and he had already found purchase in your foolish heart.Â

The Royal Playbook (Alessia X Leah X Royal!R)
Summary: It wasn't often that you used your name or your titles, but to see your girlfriends, you would do just about anything. Even if it means going head-to-head with your new security.Â
Warnings: Slightly suggestive, but otherwise nothing. It's a fluff piece.
Your life was complicated. Well⊠that may have been putting it lightly.Â
Everything in your life had been planned for you since well before you were born. You had a tutor, an etiquette instructor, and an equestrian coach from the moment you came screaming into the world. Along with a security detail and a personal team of butlers to help you navigate life.Â
It was simple, you would be academically trained, coached in diplomacy (and swordsmanship as was customary on Braavos), and exposed to different cultures so that you could continue to lead your country like your father and his mother before him. You would marry a foreign diplomat, and make political bonds that would strengthen your little island nationâs place in Europe.Â
Falling in love had never been a part of that plan.Â
Neither had your absolute obsession with football. Specifically, your obsession with English football.Â
But your parents had taken it in stride and were far more accepting than you had any right to believe they would be. They were supportive even after they found out you preferred the fairer sex, and they absolutely adored the women who had stolen your heart.
You happened to adore them too.Â
Well, something stronger than adore.Â
You would do anything for them.Â
They made you willing to break all of the carefully constructed rules you had grown up with. They made you forget the weight of responsibility that had been balanced on your shoulders since your coronation date was set the day you turned 16.Â
They treated you like Y/n instead of Her Majesty the heir to the throne. They made you feel normal.Â
It killed you that you couldnât be⊠open with your relationship. That having the world know would put them in the firing line.Â
You sighed, leaning back into the leather seat as the SUV slowed, turning in front of the Emirates. The dark window tint blocked out the flashing lights, and the thousands of pounds of armor plating dulled the chanting from the throngs of people. The little flags on the cars in your motorcade told them all who was inside, even if they didnât know which of the 4 cars you were in.Â
You shifted, tugging at the hem of your jersey. âDo you think weâll make it in time for warmups?â
The new material was still tight on your skin, so much different than the cotton dress shirts you normally wore, and the two little names above your favorite number felt unnaturally⊠weighted.Â
They were in a way. As soon as a photographer caught a picture of them, your secret would be out.Â
âIâve sent a team ahead to clear your entrance and the box youâll be staying in, so as long as we can get through this crowd we should make it,â Davis said, glancing up at you in the rearview mirror. âI know theyâre your favorite part,â
You hummed, glancing back out of the darkened windows at the masses of people dressed in white and red.Â
A part of you envied them.Â
You would never be able to walk into a stadium through its entrance. You would never get to see the mural of the team that existed in the main hall of the Emirates. You would never get to sit in the supporters section, surrounded by the various chants.Â
The other, larger part knew how much you despised being surrounded by people. How claustrophobic it made you feel, and how hard it made it for you to breathe.
But you still wondered if it would be different if those people werenât carrying cameras and screaming for your attention. You wondered if watching your girlfriends do the things they loved would negate how incredibly uncomfortable you got when people were too close.Â
âIt just completes the whole experience,â You mumbled into the glass.Â
Davis made a noise of agreement. âYes, it does,â
He knew that one of the reasons you loved it so much was because it gave you time to not have to think. To just exist in a space where you werenât the air to the throne. Where all that mattered was what was happening in front of you.Â
You didnât have to say it for him to know.Â
He could read you like a book. He had experienced every day of your life with you. He acted more like a father than your own father did, and you trusted him implicitly.Â
The car inched forward, past another gaggle of people holding their phones up to video the caravan.
âWe might have to go with plan b if Her Majesty wishes to see the warmups,â Your driver said more to Davis than to you.âThereâs an obstruction ahead,â
Your eyebrows pulled tightly together as the car crawled forward through the growing crowd.Â
Your head of security made a gruff sound, already lifting his phone and speaking rapidly into the receiver.Â
You barely paid attention to what he was saying. It didnât really matter anyway.Â
You knew he would explain when they had a plan, just like he had always done before.Â
The car came to a stop, and men dressed in bright yellow jackets came pouring out of an entrance you hadnât recognized, forming a human tunnel.Â
Davis turned in his seat to face you.Â
âWeâre going to go in a different entrance. Iâll guide you, Gabriel and Tomas will flank us,â He explained. âItâs 16 steps to the door. Stadium security will make sure that theyâre unobstructed,â
You hummed. âWill you cover my back?â
It wasnât that you were ashamed to wear your Loves names.Â
It actually made you incredibly proud and had a warmth blooming in your chest that was hard to explain.Â
But you werenât quite ready to share that with the world yet.Â
You wanted to protect them from your world for as long as you could. To prevent the people who didnât agree with your familyâs policies from hurting them to get to you.Â
âMy jacket will block you,â Davis assured you, understanding glinting in his eyes. âWeâre ready whenever you are,âÂ
You leaned back into the leather seat, glancing at the little walkway that had been created. Fans pressed against it, and you could imagine the wall of sound that would meet you.Â
You flipped your sunglasses down over your eyes. âLetâs get this over with,âÂ
âIâll get out and open your door,â Your security chief said, reiterating the protocol you always followed when you had to exit your car in a crowd.Â
You nodded, never looking away from the window.Â
You took a deep breath when the car door opened, letting in the onslaught of screams and cheers. They only got louder when Davis opened your door and held his hand out to help you out of the car.Â
He shielded you as soon as your feet were both on the ground, wrapping an arm over your shoulders, directly blocking the names on your back.Â
You tucked your face into his chest, closing your eyes at the roar of squeals and cheers that met you.Â
You never did like crowds.Â
You felt Tomas take up your other side and counted down the steps in your head as they guided you through the crowd. You didnât look up at the calls of your name, or the blinding flashes of light, or the jostling that your security tried to protect you from.Â
This was routine.Â
The press didnât pay for photos when your face wasnât clearly visible.Â
You let out a long breath when the entrance doors closed solidly behind you.Â
âItâs over little commander,â Your burly chief of security mumbled into your hair when you didnât immediately begin to untangle yourself from him, running his hand up and down your back.Â
You really didnât like crowds.Â
You sucked in another long breath before carefully pulling away from him.Â
âThank you,â You said, straightening your hair and jersey. Smiling just a bit at the name he had given you after an incident involving your countryâs general and an assassin when you were five.Â
âI donât think anyone caught a photo of your jersey, your majesty. The Captain's jacket was covering the lettering,â Gabriel added, glancing out the glass doors. âThough I think itâll be harder to hide if we leave with guests. Weâll also need extra security,âÂ
It made you sigh.Â
Gabriel was not a bad person, but he was young, and far too serious all of the time.Â
He hadnât learned that you didnât need to know all of the inner workings of their operation yet, or that you were the one who would dictate what you wanted.Â
You hadnât even decided if your girlfriends would be leaving with you yet, and when you did, Davis would work it out.Â
He always figured it out.Â
âWeâll cross that bridge later,â Davis said, glaring at the younger guard (they would pull the SUV on the fucking field if thatâs what it took), before his eyes returned to you, softening. âFirst, I believe your attendant is waiting to scan your ticket,â
Your eyes lit up at the prospect, looking past your burly squad towards a very shy looking girl.Â
âI can scan you in,â The girl's voice shook as she spoke, her eyes darting towards your guards before meeting yours again. âYour majesty,âÂ
You rolled your eyes at the title.Â
You hated it as much now as you had when you first learned you would be your fathers successor. As much as when people started using when you were 16 and your coordination date was set for the day you turned 22.Â
Davis passed you a paper ticket and nudged you forward.Â
It was a superfluous detail that your girlfriends had teased you mercilessly about.Â
No one used paper tickets anymore, they said. Everything was mobile, not that you had ever needed an actual ticket.Â
You stepped towards the girl, holding out the ticket with a grin.Â
She very gently took it, running it under the little scanner. You walked past her after it beeped.Â
It was nice to get the full experience, even if it was a bit outdated.Â
âWeâll take that back,â Davis said, as the girl turned to throw the scrap of paper away.Â
He reached for the ticket, tucking it into his jacket for safe keeping.Â
âTo the box little commander?â He asked you directly, stepping past the girl.Â
You shook your head, a smirk playing at your lips. âI think a little⊠exploration is in order first. Especially since weâve never come into the stadium this way before,âÂ
âLead the way then,â He matched your smirk, gesturing for you to head down the hallway. âThe mural youâre obsessed with is to the left,âÂ
Your eyes brightened again and you looked down the hallway he had gestured to.Â
You would definitely have to check it out before warmups started.Â
******
Alessia and Leah were⊠distracted, even as they passed the ball back and forth.Â
Warmups had barely started and they couldnât help the way their eyes kept falling to the box now occupied by a tall, bald man in a well-tailored suit, his aviators reflecting the field back at them.Â
They should have expected it. Tomas was always the first of your personal team to arrive to a location, but usually, you followed closely behind him.Â
âThe queen has arrived,â Millie chuckled, intercepting the ball Leah had passed towards Alessia.Â
âSheâs not queen yet,â Alessia huffed.
âHow could I forget? The coronation isnât for 2 more months,â Millie said, waving her arm dramatically.Â
Leah rolled her eyes. â3 more months, actually,â
âAnd Y/n isnât exactly counting down the days,â Alessia added, stealing the ball back. âShe doesnât seem too keen on the title,â
âIâm not surprised,â Ella said, catching the ball when Alessia tried to pass it to Leah. âShe got mobbed coming into the stadium,â
Leahâs eyebrows furrowed. âI thought she was using the player entrance,âÂ
You had discussed the plan with them in detail during your nightly phone conversation, asking about the location of the locker rooms in relation to the entrance your security wanted you to use.Â
They werenât sure if you intended to surprise them before or after the match, but it didnât really matter.Â
âApparently not,â Ella said, skirting around the forward's outstretched leg and passing it to Millie. âI saw the clip before we came out here. Looked like they formed a wall of security and then ushered her in the front gate,âÂ
Leah and Alessia shared a look.Â
They knew how much you disliked being in a crowd.Â
They could picture you tucked into your security chiefâs chest like a small child, trying to hide yourself from the noise of the crowd. It was an image that had been splashed across front pages of newspapers more times than they could (or wanted) to count. It still never failed to break their hearts.Â
âI never realized how big her security team was,â Ella mumbled, glancing up at the box again. âLike physically. Theyâre fucking mountains,âÂ
More of your team had joined Tomas, all wearing the same black suits and dark aviators, tall, and muscular.
They looked intimidating. Like they could take down any threat that would come at you.Â
Neither Alessia nor Leah had any doubt that they would.Â
Alessia shrugged. Frankly, they had both been very nervous too until you had actually introduced them to your security. They learned quickly to expect pranks from your security when they werenât on duty, and that their protectiveness extended to them as well as you when they were.Â
Considering all 12 members of your team had given them the shovel talk, they knew you were in very good hands. Hands that looked out for your mental health as well as your physical health.Â
âLooks like she only brought half her team,â Leah hummed, counting the men in the suite, noting your missing head of security. He would certainly be wherever you were, and she found it slightly strange you werenât in the box yet.Â
You hated missing warmups.Â
But then a group standing near the benches, behind Serina caught her eyes.Â
There were 4 tall, burly men surrounded by stadium workers dressed in bright orange vests.Â
âMaybe not,â Alessia mumbled, her gaze also falling to the growing crowd behind the benches. âShe doesnât usually try to come down to the field,â
âSheâs never had to come through the front door before either,â Leah answered.Â
Ella wiggled her eyebrows, shimming between them. âMaybe she wants to do something wild before she has the weight of a country on her back,âÂ
âShe already has that,â Both blonde women said in unison, eyes snapping away from the sea of orange towards the midfielder.Â
âSheâs had that since her father put her in charge of their trade negotiations,â Alessia added. âAnd their UK commerce,â
Frankly, you had been taking more and more responsibility for years. Trying to gain the trust of your people so the transition of power was an easy one. A safe one.Â
An uncontested one.Â
âAnd sheâs been doing a bang-up job,â Leah said, just as Davis appeared in the mix of security next to a blonde man she had never seen before. âSheâs actually coming in the field,âÂ
âYou mean we finally get to meet the Queen?â Millie said dramatically, standing on her tiptoes to catch a glimpse of you, the ball forgotten at her feet.Â
Alessia slapped her stomach. âYouâve met her before. You tried to get her drunk after our Euros win and convince her to fly the England flag on her fatherâs palace,â
âDetails,â Millie rolled her eyes, shoving the striker. âHow can she see through the mass of people though?â
âItâs a special formation,â Leah grumbled, pushing Millie, and stealing the ball they had all disregarded as she moved it forward she saw Davis shift and the flash of a pair of aviators. You were certainly on the field. âDesigned so she can see out but no one can see her. Theyâre trying not to draw attention,âÂ
Ella snorted. âWell, they failed at that,â
It was true.Â
The fans in the stands seemed to be clamoring over themselves to see why there was a substantial crowd near the benches.Â
Leah and Alessia shared a look.Â
They both knew how much you hated attention. It was why you usually stayed in your box and came in through back entrances. They joked you were like a ghost coming to their games, never seen or heard.Â
But this. This was different.Â
Before they could respond Geriant clapped his hands, âAlright ladies letâs do some through balls on goal. Lineup,â
Leah tapped him the ball and followed Alessia to the back of the line.Â
There would be time later to figure out why you had come down in the field.Â
Right now they had to focus on beating Australia, especially if they wanted a good game kiss from you after the game.Â
You only kissed winners.Â
******
You shifted awkwardly as you leaned against the cool, stone wall outside the locker rooms, playing with the identification lanyard around your neck.Â
It wasnât often that you used your⊠status to get into areas no fans could. That you finagled your way into the tunnel of the stadium after a game.Â
You were much more prone to letting your security whisk you in and out so you werenât seen and no one knew if you were actually there, but today, you had been feeling bold.Â
Well, kind of.Â
Davis had been the one to suggest that seeing warmups at field level might be fun if you were going to venture to see the mural.Â
You had agreed.Â
And he had been right.Â
You had gotten to chat with Serina about tactics and formations while getting a close-up view of your girlfriends in action, even if it was just warmups.Â
You had gone back up to your fancy box for the game, but couldnât resist Serinaâs invitation to wait for the team in the tunnel after.Â
Thatâs how you ended up here, shifting nervously from foot to foot while the players made their mandatory lap around the field.Â
It wasnât really being in the tunnel that had you on edge. It was that Davis had gone to coordinate your motorcade out of the stadium, and left you with Gabriel. You didnât feel as⊠safe with the blonde man, and his seriousness was really starting to set you off.Â
You would have to very carefully bring it up with Davis later, though you hated doing anything that could potentially make his job harder.Â
âCan you, um, not stand so close please?â you mumbled, as he pressed more closely to you as players from the Australian team started to make their way down the tunnels. âI want to say hello to the players,âÂ
Gabriel shook his head, standing firmly. âThey havenât been checked through security,â
âThey just played a match,â You rolled your eyes, pushing him away from you, trying to create some space. âI doubt any of them are smuggling a weapon between here and the locker room, or have Ill intent,âÂ
They were your friends. People, your girlfriends played with every day. People you had spent a lot of time with. People who saw you as a person and not as a title. They wouldnât cause you harm.Â
âWe canât take that risk, Your Majesty,â Gabriel answered, already pressing back to pin you between his back and the wall, as his head whipped back and forth.Â
You shoved him off of you more harshly, stumbling with the force. âI told you to go away. Why donât you go stand at the front of the tunnel if youâre so worried,âÂ
You would have face-planted had strong arms not caught you.Â
âWhoa there Princess,â Leahâs warm voice chuckled in your ear, using the term of endearment that annoyed you when it came from anyone but your girlfriends. âYou only had to fall for me once,â
âLeah,â Your shoulders instantly relaxed at her voice, and you looked up to meet her eyes. âYou guys played so well!â
She smiled brilliantly at you, and you leaned up to place a gentle kiss on her lips.Â
It only lasted a second before a large hand appeared between you.Â
âNo physical contact please,â Gabriel said, looking incredibly uncomfortable. âItâs policy,âÂ
You glared at the side of his face.Â
You were definitely going to have to talk to Davis about this.Â
âWhat about me pretty girl?â Alessia asked, materializing to Gabrielâs right. âDo I not deserve a kiss too?
âYou definitely do. That goal was a fucking banger,â You said, pulling away from the defender, and throwing out a foot mocking the way Alessia had smashed the ball. âLee crossed it in and then woosh,â
You threw your arms out, mimicking the goal celebration that Alessia did. The one that reminded you of an airplane, right into her waiting grasp.Â
She leaned forward, brushing your nose with her. âYouâre adorable,â
You closed the last millimeter, connecting your lips in a gentle kiss.Â
She tasted like mint gum, and blue Gatorade, and something so⊠Alessia. She tasted like home.Â
âAnd you look very fit with our names on your back,â Leah added, running her fingers across the bold letters across your shoulders before she wrapped her arms around the two of you.Â
You buried your face in Alessiaâs chest to hide the red blooming across your cheeks, earning a giggle from both women.Â
âYour majesty, I don't feel comfortable with this situation,â Gabriel said, clearing his throat, and stepping into your space. He leaned down and lowered his voice like he thought it would prevent Leah and Alessia from hearing him. âWeâre in too public of a place. Itâs not befitting of the crown,â
You froze, your back going rigid.Â
It was one thing for him to not understand personal boundaries. For him to be hyper-vigilant.Â
You could chalk that up to his⊠newness.Â
But this. This you could not tolerate.Â
Your fingers caught Alessiaâs top before she could pull away, forcing her to stay pressed against you, as your other hand reached back to hold Leahâs hip. You didnât need them to move. You didnât want them to move.Â
You took a deep breath before pulling your face out of Alessiaâs chest to stare daggers at the bulky, blonde man.Â
âCall for backup,â You said, your voice deadly calm.Â
He raised an eyebrow at you. âThereâs no need. I have it-âÂ
âIt wasnât a request,â You cut him off icily. âCall for backup now, or I will do it myself,âÂ
He paused at your tone, glancing at the teammates and friends that had been on their way to the locker room, also frozen at the foreign chill in your voice.Â
It was the tone you saved for meetings with world leaders you didnât particularly like. Ones with foreign dignitaries who thought they could walk all over you, your family, and your country.Â
He took a step back, lowering his voice like he was talking to a child. âYour majesty, I donât think this is a proper conversation to have with an audience,âÂ
You werenât in the mood to be scolded.Â
âAnd I donât care what you think,â You bit back, letting go of Leahâs hip to reach up to your necklace, pressing the bottom button hidden on the pendant twice.Â
The signal that you needed assistance, but it wasnât emergent or life-threatening.Â
Still, within 30 seconds Tomas was rounding the corner near the locker rooms, speed walking towards you. The crowd of white and yellow jerseys parted for him like he was Mosis.Â
You were slightly disappointed it wasnât Davis, but Tomas would do.Â
âLittle commander,â He nodded his head in greeting, his eyes flickering across the scene before returning to you. âHow can I be of assistance,â
You appreciated that he had addressed you first.Â
That he acknowledged that you were the one in control here.Â
But Gabriel didnât seem to get that message.Â
âYour presence isnât needed,â The blonde security man huffed, âHer majesty is throwing a temper tantrum,â
Alessiaâs fingers tightened around your hips, and you didnât have to look at her to see the scowl pulling across her lips. Leahâs arms similarly squeezed around your shoulders and you knew daggers were being thrown his way.Â
Had this been any other circumstance you were sure the growing crowd of footballers would have oooed.Â
Not that you needed them.
You had this all under control.Â
âTake Gabriel to the exit,â You said evenly, command and⊠dominance, radiating through the simple words. âor to the dumpster or the Thames. I donât really care but get him away from me. He is relieved of his duty,â
The blonde security man sputtered. âYou canât do that. Iâm-â
âActually I can,â You cut him off. âI can do whatever the fuck I want. Tomas, please remind Gabriel of the terms of his service,â
Tomas cleared his throat, suppressing a grin. âWe serve at the pleasure of our charge, Her Majesty, Princess of Braavos, heir to the throne,â
Your chest puffed a bit at your full title.Â
One you generally despised, but it served its purpose here.Â
âAnd you certainly have not⊠pleasured me. Not that youâre capable,â Your lips turned upwards in a cruel smirk, as Alessia and Leah, and the surrounding crowd didnât hold in their giggles. âPerhaps you should work on your listening, and little things called consent and common sense,â
âLetâs go,â Tomas caught Gabrielâs arms before he could protest or argue with you, not that there was anything he could say. The taller, balder security man made eye contact with you before he hauled Gabriel away. âDavis and Matthew will be by shortly. Iâve left Carson at the top of the tunnel and Iâll have him perform personal security until they arrive,â
You sent him a stiff nod, standing at your full height until they were out of sight before you let yourself collapse back into Alessia.Â
You would never. Could never truly be alone.Â
âI fucking hate doing that,â You groaned into her chest, and Leah leaned forward to press a kiss to the back of your neck.
âWe know love,â The defender hummed into your soft skin, and Alessia made a sound of agreement, shooing the crowd of football players around you to go about their way. Â
âBut on the bright side, you did look proper sexy,â Alessia said, gently pinching the skin just beneath the hem of your jersey. âHer Majesty, Princess of Braavos, heir to the throne,â
You couldnât help the giggle that bugged from your lips at her terrible rendition of Tomasâ heavy accent. The one you worked incredibly hard to suppress.
It had come out slightly in the exchange, the only indicator that English was not your first language.Â
It was something that happened when you were annoyed, which was rare in itself. You didnât like to wield your power, and thankfully, you usually didnât have to in your personal life.Â
âFor a second I thought you were going to yell at him in Valyrian,â Leah said, her lips working from the back of your neck up to just behind your ear.Â
You hummed. âI try not to do that in mixed company,âÂ
Despite how much you had pushed against the mold of your upbringing, your impeccable manners could not be changed.Â
Plus you knew how much Leah and Alessia loved when you spoke in your native language. How⊠wound up⊠it made them. You didnât want to associate your annoyance with that. Ever.Â
Alessia smirked. âSo he canât pleasure you?âÂ
You rolled your eyes at the change in subject.Â
âNo. He was only on my team for 3 days, and I wanted to strangle him for most of it,â Your lips pulled up in an impish smirk. âPlus I could tell that heâs never given out a feminominon in his fucking life,âÂ
Leah mirrored the expression against your neck, and Alessiaâs eyes sparkled.
âI think we could definitely show you what we know about feminominons,â Leah said, pressing a kiss to the sensitive skin just below your ear.Â
âWould you like to shower with us?âAlessiaâs thumb ran over the skin just above your pants. âWe promise we wonât bite, â
âUnless you ask nicely,â Leah finished, her teeth grazing over the wet skin she had just kissed.Â
It was sometimes scary how they could finish each other's thoughts, though you werenât convinced that this had been their endgame all along.Â
You melted into them, the rest of your annoyance fading.Â
âI would love nothing more,âÂ
They nodded at Carson as they dragged you towards the locker room, the shorter, muscular man shifting to stand by the door, already talking into his earpiece.Â
You just needed some time with your girls.Â
Itâs what you wanted and the security team would respect that and leave you undisturbed.Â
They served at your pleasure after all, and so did your girlfriends apparently.Â
Well, at least at the moment, they would serve to pleasure you.Â

Links Meet AUs List
A lot of AUs get lumped together with Linked Universe, so I wanted to make a list comprising any and all original Links Meet AUs I could find! Please let me know if Iâm missing something, you want your AU to be removed, a link is broken, or if you know an AUâs status so it can be moved to the correct dedicated category.
DISCLAIMER: Please pay attention to the content warnings on some of these AUs! I havenât personally read every AU so I donât know what some contain, but if an AU has something you donât vibe with, there are more than plenty of others that you will love on this list! Please be respectful and kind to everyone! This list is both for archival purposes and to appreciate the creativity of the community!
Additional Notes: Some AUs have dedicated Tumblrs, some can be found through original tags, some are only on ff.net or ao3, etc. I have a separate list for AUs limited to Discord/DMs that I have not included here unless I receive permission to do so! Also, if something is separated by ||, that means that theyre 2(+) separate AUs by the same creator in the same tumblr⊠if that makes sense LOL. This list is Always Updating so be sure to keep an eye out for any new AUs!

[Sweetheart] [Noa x reader drabble]
Summary: Noa comes to you and asks what a specific nickname means, one that he found in a book
Word count: 850+
Warnings: Noa having feelings for reader and he's once again fighting for his life.
A/N: this SUCKS but it's been in my notes app for far too long and it's almost 1k words that I cannot scrap, this is a weak piece but nonetheless, I hope someone enjoys it!
Noa has been introduced to the term "sweetheart" when digging through some of Raka's stash of books the orangutan had left behind. The Ape had decided to take a trip back to where he first met him to see if there has been more to learn from his late companion. And to this surprise, there was.
Many more books that Raka has deemed fit to be left behind. It was a good thing in hindsight, Noa figured. He could ask you about the words and their meaning, for you to teach him how to read it and comprehend.
The first book he has popped open seemed to be a picture book with very few words, like the one he has seen at the human base.
There were two echoes dancing around one another, seemingingly lost in one another's gaze from what the Eagle clan leader could tell.
'You are my sweetheart.' The script said, interesting. Tucking it into his woven bag, Noa mounted his horse to head back home.
"Echo." Noa murmured, walking slowly from behind you.
You looked peaceful, the orange glow from the fire lighting up your features as you rested, a bowl of berries sat on top of your thighs.
"Welcome home, Noa." The smile you sent him was enough to make the ape trip over nothing. It was embarrassing. It made him feel like a child all over again.
After correcting himself, he eased himself down to your level, crouching to meet you.
"Need your help." Signing with one hand, moving to grab the book from the sling it was fastened in.
Your body subconsciously leans into his space, something you were usually mindful about. But he has been gone for a few days, leaving by himself along with Eagle sun and his horse.
"Why can't I come?" Huffing, you're staring at the back of Noa's head, trying your best to not let the anxiety of him leaving overtake you.
"Too far, might be dangerous." Noa shook his head, moving to strap his spear onto the horse's saddle. He knew if he turned around and looked at you, he'd cave and bring you with.
Don't turn around. Don't turn around. Don't turn. He can't take you, he can't.
The warm hand on his back is enough to make a shudder, his shoulders tense as your small hand ever so gently pats at the fur there.
"...be safe." Your voice sounds small, and only then does he turn to you, taking you in.
"I will."
It was weird being without him, you've grown so used to him being by your side.
You managed just fine despite what your brain would have you believe. You had taken on helping with the eagles in Noa's stead. Feeding, watering, making sure they come to roost at night and securing them.
It did little to keep your mind off of Noa, though. Just making you miss the chimp all the more.
If He had any issue with you in his personal space, it wasn't apparent, letting you cozy up to him.
Leaning a bit further, you peer at what's in his hands.
"Oh! You found a book?"
He hums at you, delicately cracking the small book open, careful with its worn pages to flip to the end where he found the weird name.
"What does-" He points a finger down at the word. "Sweet heart. Mean?"
"It's just an expression, a nickname." Picking up a berry to toss it in your mouth, chewing softly as you watch Noa compute your words.
"...nick..name?" He stutters over the word, raising an eye bridge.
"It's way to call your loved ones a special name. Sweetheart is one of them."
'Do you like it, being called that?' He signs, turning his body to you, taking in just how pretty you look in the fading sunlight, his eyes trained on your lips.
"Well, no one's ever called me any before, so I don't know."
You seem embarrassed, your body immediately going into defensive mode as you curl up.
Noa can change that, he thinks.
You don't think anything of that conversation after a few days past, figuring it was just another one of Noa's questioning about humans.
It isn't until you're grooming the horses, scrubbing at their coat, and ensuring that they're clean that it gets brought up again.
"Sweetheart!" A loud voice all too familiar calls out, making you jump out of your skin and drop the brush in your hands.
Whirling around, you see that it's the Eagle Clan leader himself, making his way towards you with a smile on his lips, his bright eyes trained on yours and he has a extra carrier around his shoulder, no doubt for you.
"Noa?" You're trying your best to fight off the blush that rushes to your cheeks, but it's useless. Hopefully, he thinks it's due to the heat that you're flustered, god willing.
This begins Noa's continuous use of the term. It replaces him calling your name at this point.
Sweetheart this, sweetheart that, for anything you do together, he makes sure to slip it in, loving how you react to it, that you immediately answer to him.
Anaya once tries to call you the nickname, knowing full well that Noa is flirting with you the best way he has learned how but gets shut down instantaneously, Noa playfully putting him in a headlock, huffing as he shakes his best friend.
"My Echo. Mine. Not. Yours."

pairing: hoshina soushirou x gn!reader (no prns)
request:Â hiii idk if u take these kinds of requests but id like to see jealous reader (preferably if reader and hoshina are already in an established relationship and reader works in a different division, meaning they dont get to see each other much) like maybe heâs used to calling okonogi âmy dearâ and its the first reader heard him call anyone with a pet name like that and she starts to overthink and gets pouty/ sulky and hoshina doesnt notice it at first but when he does he starts teasing her which doesnt help HAHAHAHA if its ok can it be hurt/ comfort and end in fluff & HELLO!! can i request an angst to fluff with hoshina where reader thinks he likes okonogi more than him especially since he is against revealing him n readerâs relationship to the third division (for other reasons of course). hopefully this isnt too specific!! i hope u have a wonderful day:))
notes: hoshina calls the reader âdarlingâ, hurt comfort, him accepting jealousy a valid emotion (very important to me i fear), so sorry i merged the reqs!! i hope this was satisfactory for both TY FOR THE REQ!, this is a twt thread i thought about while writing this, (l/n) mention in the bonus part
wc:Â 1400
Oh, you hated when this happened. You hated when your heart started to tighten in this horrible way you knew well. You hated being jealous.
You hated how self centered it made you feel and how it ate away at your thoughts and feelings. It made you feel like your good thoughts were disintegrating to horrible ones. However, what you hated even more was how it meant you were doubting his love for youâ and that was the last thing you wanted to do. You didn't want to doubt him, nor did you doubt him, but when the jealousy got to your head it was over. You were stuck in a loop.
To top it off, the cause of this all was truly harmless and hardly that big of a deal, but that's usually how most anxious thoughts start. They start little.
You were called to visit the 3rd Division to help with research on a field you were particularly knowledgeable on, and you happened to hear Hoshina's laughter from the operation room, so you went in to take a peek.
âIt was not that funny,â Okonogi was saying to him, but Hoshina only continued to laugh.
âYes, it definitely was,â he laughed. âI knew Kafka would forget about that hole in the training grounds again.â
âWhy don't you remind him, then?â
âComedic relief, of course.â
âAlright then.â
âOkonogi dear, you're no fun,â he said.
They said a few more things, but you couldn't seem to focus on their words. âDearâ? Was that merely a simple pet name? Or was there more to them than you initially expected?
Oh, the worries started to fill your head. And they were things you didn't want to be worried aboutâ Okonogi was always so sweet to you when you popped by and you knew Hoshina loved you. The last thing you wished to do was doubt them, nor did you want to make things awkward around them. There were just so many things that you just didn't know about, being in a different division as him. You doubted they even knew you were dating, and the voice in your head would only get louder.
It was then that Hoshina saw you at the doorway and called over to you.
âAre you done with work?â he asked, his voice excited and hopeful. Your heart stung.
âNot quite yet,â you tried to sound disappointed, but for the right reason. âIâll get going now.â
You walked away from the room as quickly as you could, seemingly naturally. You didn't want to be there and you didn't want to talk to him before calming down firstâ you were sure you'd say something silly if you spoke now.
Yet, immediately you heard footsteps behind you and a hand you knew well grab yours.
âSoushirou?â you asked, turning to look behind you.
âWhat's wrong?â he asked, his voice soft and visible concern in his eyes. âDo you feel unwell?â
Pang in your chest again.
âNot at all, nothing's wrong?â you said, but you could see the way he pursued his lipsâ the hurt in his eyes from how you wouldn't tell him what was troubling you. Gosh, why did you feel this way? Why must you feel much silly emotions.
âIt's truly so stupid,â you said. âI'll tell you another time.â
âAlright,â he said, letting go of your hand. That one was your badâ you knew he wouldn't push you any further, even if he wanted to.
Dinner that night was awkward. You weren't even that jealous, but the fact that you felt something was gnawing at your brain upset you. Not to mention the fact that you were keeping something from him made you feel even worse.
âHow was your training?â you asked.
âAlright, I suppose,â he said. There was a horrible moment of silence. You werenât sure what to say.
âI think Iâm getting a hang of this new technique,â he finally continued, but you wouldnât look up at himâ you were afraid he wouldnât look your way.
âI see,â you said. âThatâs really cool⊠Iâd like to see someday.â
âIâll show you as soon as its better,â he said.
The rest of dinner felt⊠quiet. The two of you still talked throughout it but it was terribly different from the usual lively catch-up youâd haveâ it was heart-wrenching quite frankly.
So as youâd imagine, going to sleep was even worse. You subconsciously faced away from him and pretended to fall asleep quickly, hoping heâd sleep soon too. You hated what was going on, but you just couldnât bring this up. You knew it was silly and you knew youâd forget soon enough. Youâd probably regret making such a big deal out of it.
âDarling,â he said, and immediately you turned to face him. He was already facing you. âYou donât have to tell me if you donât feel like it⊠Iâm sorry I pushed you.â
Gosh, you thought. You gulped. You wished he wasnât so kind.
âYouâre going to think Iâm so annoying though,â you said, voice cracking in a way you didnât wish for it to and immediately his eyes widened.
âDarling, what happened?â he asked, suddenly worried. âYou could never be annoying to me.â
âI⊠heard youâŠâ you started and he just listenedâ he waited. âI heard you calling Okonogi, âdear.â And suddenly Iââ
âIâm so sorry,â he said, without hesitation. âI hadnât even realized I did that, it was completely by habit. I wonât anymore.â
You finally met his eyes and the way he looked so horrified he had made you feel bad was so prominent in his eyes.
âNo, Soushirou,â you said. âI didnât mean for you to have to change anythingâ I know so well that both of you are so sweet to me and thereâs nothing going on. I justââ
âDarling, calm down,â he said, cutting you off. âYouâve done nothing wrong, why are you beating yourself up? This was my bad and thatâs about it. None of this is you.â
âIâ,â you said, taking a moment to collect yourself. âI hate to be jealous, Soushirou. Iâm so sorry.â
âWhy?â he asked and you paused to look up at him, utterly confused.
âWhy?â he asked again.
âItâs such an⊠ugly feeling,â you said.
âIs it?â
âIs it⊠not?â
âWhatâs wrong with being jealous?â
âBecause itâs like Iâm doubting you or something⊠when I donât at all.â
âI think thatâs a different thing entirely, no?â he asked. âYou can know in your head that Iâm in love with you and still feel something elseâ theyâre not always the same. A little jealousy is perfectly healthy, I think.â
âOhâŠâ you said. You wanted to say so much more but there was so much to process first. Your heart swelled with such warmth.
âI get jealous too. I hate when Narumi gets too close to you or bothers you when Iâm not around,â he continued on. âBut in my head I know youâd never do anything to hurt me and youâd stop him if he crosses a line. Iâll try to stop if that bothers you though.â
âNo,â you said. âThat sounds⊠nice. Iâm rather⊠happy⊠you were a jealous actually. But Iâll make sure to keep some more distance between Captain Narumi next time.â
He laughed. âSounds good. But you tell me if thereâs anything more that bothers you okay. Iâll fix myself up.â
âI will,â you said and he kissed your forehead. âBut Soushirou, I donât mind much anymore. You can stay the way you are.â
âNo, no, stop overthinking. You need to sleep now, you have an early morning tomorrow.â
âYeah. You too Sou,â you said and he hummed.
Once you were certain he was asleep, you kissed his cheek and slipped your hand into his. You liked holding his hand when you fell asleep, but you werenât sure if it made it harder for him to fall asleep.
âThank you,â you whispered to him. âYou mean the world to me.â
You lightly kissed his cheek, careful not to wake him up, but to your surprised he smiled. He squeezed your hand and without opening his eyes, âYou missed,â he said.
He kissed you on the lips and you laughed, snuggling up against him. âYou were awake.â
âI was waiting for you to hold my hand,â he said. âI like when we hold hands when we sleep.â
BONUS:
From then on, Hoshina stopped calling Okonogi âdearâ as much, and itâd only happen when it truly slipped out of him from force of habit.
âVice-Captain, youâve started dating (l/n), havenât you?â she said to him one day while they were sorting through files.
âHow... did you know?â he asked. The two of you had been dating for quite a while now, but he was more surprised she guessed you correctly.
âItâs terribly obvious youâre completely in love,â she said.
He blinked. And then he laughed.Â
Heâd have to ask you that night if he can share the news with everyone, properly, then.

Liu Kang : Only because of certain events that had taken its place
Shang Tsung : You call me the villain but you specifically crafted this timeline to make (Y/N) fall in love with you

Shang Tsung : If you want her so bad, why have (Y/N) meet me?
Liu Kang : It was bound to have happen and as I have done every timeline, I gave (Y/N) the choice whether she wanted to be consumed by your greed and darkness
Liu Kang : (Y/N) does not want to be with you, sorcerer
Shang Tsung : If she doesnât then why does she always end up back to me?
Shang Tsung : (Y/N) will fall for my power eventually
Liu Kang : That very statement proves you do not know her as (Y/N) is not attracted to power and greed
Shang Tsung : If I win, youâll let me have (Y/N)
Liu Kang : (Y/N) is not a prize to be won
Shang Tsung : Together, me and (Y/N) can rule all realms
Liu Kang : Im sure (Y/N) would be interested in the man that got deceived by his own double
Shang Tsung : I could treat (Y/N) better than you
Liu Kang : Better? You tried to kill her in the original timeline

~The Diner~
pairing- Paige x Azzi
summary- (request) Based on the song âThe Dinerâ, specifically the line, âBet I could change your life. You could be my wife.â
warning: little angst, fluff (we love pazzi fluff)
Enjoy!!!
Paige first met Azzi when she was 15, and Azzi was 14, at a USA Basketball camp. They were both young, full of dreams, and eager to prove themselves on the court. From the moment Paige saw Azzi shoot her first three-pointer, she knew there was something different about her. It wasnât just the way she played, though that was undeniable, it was just something else. A spark. A connection, you could say.
They became friends fast, the kind of friends who couldnât go a day without texting or calling. They played together, trained together, and quickly became inseparable. Paige loved the way Azzi smiled shyly when she was nervous, and Azzi adored how Paige could make anyone in the room laugh, even when the pressure was on.
As the years passed, their friendship deepened. They played for the same teams, shared victories, and comforted each other in defeat. But there was always something unsaid between them, a tension neither was brave enough to address. It lingered in the late-night texts, the lingering touches, the way Paigeâs heart raced whenever Azzi looked at her just a little too long.
It wasnât until their flight back to Minnesota after a grueling tournament that things began to shift. They were both exhausted, but in that comfortable way you only get after spending days together, doing what you love. Paige was slouched in her seat, her head resting on the window, while Azzi was next to her, headphones in, lost in her music.
Paige nudged her gently, pulling one of Azziâs headphones out. âWhatâre you listeninâ to?â she asked, her voice soft.
Azzi shrugged, showing her the screen. âSome Billie Eillish . Itâs calming.â
Paige grinned. âOh yeah? I like her too. Sheâs got this one songâ'The Diner,' you know it?â
Azzi nodded, smiling. âYeah, itâs a good one.â
Paige hesitated for a second, then said, almost playfully, âBet I could change your life, you could be my wife.â
Azzi froze, her heart skipping a beat. The line hung in the air between them, heavy with unspoken meaning. Paige wasnât looking at her, just staring out the window like she hadnât just said something that made Azziâs entire world tilt on its axis.
âPaigeâŠâ Azzi started, her voice trailing off. She wasnât sure what to say. Paige had a way of throwing things out there, half-joking, half-serious, and it always left Azzi unsure of where she stood.
Paige finally turned to look at her, a crooked smile on her lips. âIâm kidding, Az. Donât get all serious on me.â
But there was something in Paigeâs eyes that said she wasnât entirely kidding. Azzi could feel her cheeks heating up, and she quickly turned away, pretending to be interested in the movie playing on the screen in front of her. But the words echoed in her mind, over and over again, long after Paige had closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.
The rest of the flight was quiet, the two of them lost in their own thoughts, the tension between them thicker than ever. Azzi tried to shake off the weird feeling in her chest, but it clung to her, making her question everythingâevery look, every touch, every word theyâd ever shared.
As the years went on, they both found themselves at UConn, continuing to play side by side. The friendship remained strong, but the tension never really went away. They were both too scared to ruin what they had, to risk the friendship that meant so much to both of them.
But it wasnât just the tension that grewâit was the feelings. The longing. The what-ifs that kept them both awake at night. Azzi couldnât help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, Paige felt the same way she did.
It all came to a head during Azziâs sophomore year, Paigeâs junior year. Theyâd just finished a tough game against Iowa, one that had them both on edge, and were back in their apartment, sitting on the couch in that same comfortable silence they always shared.
Paige was scrolling through her phone, her thumb absentmindedly moving across the screen, while Azzi stared at her, trying to gather the courage to say what sheâd been holding in for years.
Finally, Azzi couldnât take it anymore. âPaige,â she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Paige looked up, eyebrows raised in question. âYeah?â
Azzi took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. âDo you remember that time on the plane? When you said⊠when you said you could change my life?â
Paigeâs eyes widened slightly, but she didnât say anything. She just nodded, waiting. Azzi swallowed hard. âDid you mean it?â
For a moment, Paige was silent, her expression unreadable. Then, slowly, she nodded again. âYeah, Az. I did.â
Azziâs heart was racing, and she could feel the tears prickling at the corners of her eyes. âWhy didnât you say anything?â
Paige sighed, setting her phone down and turning to face Azzi fully. âI didnât want to mess things up. Weâre⊠weâre best friends, Azzi. I didnât want to risk that.â
Azzi nodded, understanding but still feeling the weight of those unsaid words between them. âI get it. But⊠Paige, Iâve been in love with you for so long. I just..I didnât even know or believed that I could feel this way towards a girl.. but you changed that when I first saw you and I just didnât know how to tell you.â
Paigeâs breath caught in her throat, and she reached out, taking Azziâs hand in hers. âIâve loved you too, Azzi. For so long. I just⊠didnât know if you felt the same.â Azzi let out a shaky laugh, tears slipping down her cheeks. âGuess weâre both idiots, huh?â
Paige laughed too, her thumb brushing away Azziâs tears. âYeah, I guess we are.â
There was a pause, a moment of silence that stretched between them, before Paige spoke again, her voice soft and full of emotion. âYou could be my wife, Azzi.â
Azziâs heart skipped a beat, her breath hitching in her throat. âPaigeâŠâ
âIâm serious,â Paige said, her eyes searching Azziâs for any sign of doubt. âI want to spend my life with you. I want us to be together, for real.â
Azziâs smile was bright, her heart soaring. âI want that too, Paige. More than anything.â
And just like that, the tension that had been hanging over them for years dissolved, replaced by a warmth that spread through both of them, filling them with a happiness neither had ever felt before.
They kissed, slow and sweet, the kind of kiss that spoke of years of love and longing finally realized. When they pulled back, Paige rested her forehead against Azziâs, a smile playing on her lips.
âBet I could change your life,â Paige whispered, and this time, there was no doubt, no hesitation.
Azzi smiled back, her heart full. âYou already have.â

if this "no news/trailers/whatever at all until the year leading up to release" is the new normal for KH i think fandom is going to like, have to massively restructure the way it works, the things it celebrates and engages with, the stuff it values and considers 'high worth', because otherwise it's just going to be years and years and years of the same discussions repeated over and over with nothing new for us to even chew on in the meantime.
i find that the kh fandom massively undervalues fanworks. maybe as a side effect of how important 'word of god' and 'canon' are to understanding the series, idk, but like i think there needs to be a real shift in fandom perspective to champion them more, and making them far more central to what "being active in kh fandom" means. And I think this both because of just the practicality of keeping fandom alive in an era where the devs are more tight-lipped than ever, but also I think it's something that KH specifically needs to do.
Kingdom Hearts is always going to be a series of "missed/unfulfilled potential". There is no way it cannot be. The concept is just too expansive, the cast so wide, and there are endless ways to spin off of what they've given us, or endless ways to imagine where it could go. Even something as simple as a Disney world has all of this "potential" in how it could be explored, how it could be utilized, how it could play or look or feel, what themes it could have, what character development it could give certain characters etc. And the games will always have to take that infinite possibility and whittle it down to a single thing. KH itself will always have to contend with right/legal issues, Disney oversight and rules, the realities of game development and budgets, etc and so in that sense, it will never be able to reach the potential. But like... we can? We as fans can take all of the potential and use it as an endless playground for us to enjoy and engage with.
Idk, I just think back to, for example, Kairi and Lea training. A concept that has a ton of potential! Very interesting fertile ground for character dynamics, fighting scenes, mentor scenes, etc etc. Obviously, in KH3 this amounted to only a couple of core scenes where the devs put the focus on just their character relationships. Many were disappointed by this, by how little we see, but like, it was always set up as a "thing that is going to be happening off-screen", that's the whole point of 'merlin made a special place where time doesnt matter and they can just focus on training'. And when we think of KH3 with its endless things it has to juggle, its huge cast, etc. it makes sense that Kairi and Lea training can only be a tiny part of it. They have a budget. They have resource constraints. They even have disc space constraints to worry about (it's why their scenes are CG even! They literally did not have any room on the disc to actual make in-game environments for them!).
Like we can look at that and be very disappointed. We didn't get to see any of that stuff. But like, idk, at the same time, the fact that we didn't see a lot of it means that almost any fanwork about that time can "fit with canon" and be "something that might've happened". Like, we can look at it as a disappointment it wasn't more defined by KH3, but we could also look at it as a fandom gift. To borrow a phrase from iconic kh fan translator goldpanner: It is a crack in the concrete sidewalk of KH canon where fanworks can grow and thrive.
Idk. I know for some, fanworks will just never count the same as canon. But, I do feel like if people in general grew to appreciate them more, and have fun with them and engage with them, and share them and make them themselves, then it could do so much to smooth out the feelings of 'missed potential' that is inherent with this series and always will be through no fault of the devs themselves. And perhaps we would find, if, for example, we had spent the 4-6 years between MelMem and KHIV having a blast as a fandom exploring 'Kairi and Aqua training' through fics, art, comics, vids, fangames, music, graphic design, etc etc. We'd probably feel that by the time it was 'defined' by canon into a single thing it has to be for the story they're telling, even if that thing is nothing that we thought or wished for, we might end up feeling the 'potential' of the idea wasn't wasted, because we explored it.
#kingdom hearts#similarly the limit cut year gap is never going to be filled out!!! its for FANS!!!#'mdg traveling together' 'tav in dark world' 'raxn twilight town' like these are fan prompts#they are little things for us to play with not things that are likely to be depicted fully#anyway my point is that its not just about fanworks existing#it's about the mindset we as a fandom have toward these things#and how little we value our own contributions to what 'KH' is

â§Rika Hinataâ§
âInfo Below Cutâ
Name: Rika Hinata.
Age: 16.
Gender: Female - She/Her.
Race: Asian + Hispanic.
Height: 5â7â (171 cm).
Affiliation: Demon Slayer/ Demon Slayer Corps.
Rank: Hinoe.
Breathing Style: Sapphire Blaze - Derived From Flame Breathing.
Personality: ISFJ, Caring, hardworking, independent, perceptive, Understanding, protective. Rika is a kind girl by heart, who looks for peace within herself and wishes to be strong enough to protect others and is always there looking out for them, worrying about their well beings. She greatly admires and looks up to the hashiras and her close comrades, very respectful towards them. However, Despite her kindhearted nature, she is a tough girl and she likes to keep most things to herself, putting up walls whenever sheâs feeling down or upset, very private about her personal life and her trauma and how it impacted her. can be a bit intimidating when angry, just as long as you donât say anything bad to those she is close with, she is quick to defend them. she can be quite protective, and can sometimes be a bit patronising at times.
ê°áBackstoryà»ê±
At the age of 10, Rika had been taken under the care of Sakonji Urokodaki, after Giyuu Tomioka found her in the woods, unconscious and bleeding.
She had been attacked by a demon in her home, where her parents were both killed, fighting for their lives and trying to get their daughter to safety. The demon had tried to get to her, but with her quick speed, she out ran him and ran out into the woods, running into the late night until dawn, Having her to pass out due to exhaustion.
After being saved, it was from there she learned about the demon slayer corps. Right then and there, she wanted to be trained and to become a demon slayer. she was willing to become strong, So that she can protect and save other peopleâŠSo, She trained for two years under urokodakis guidance. within those two years, she looked up to both urokodaki and Giyuu, forming a close bond with the two.
At the age of 13, she went into final selection and officially became a demon slayer. Promising herself and the others that she would become stronger than ever, to fight and protect to those in need.
Rika has regret of not being able to save her parents, which gives her the desire to become strong enough to protect her loved ones (or anyone in general) no matter what. She can't let the same thing happen again and know its all her fault. She blames herself for not being able to save her parents and would push herself intensely to become a demon slayer so no one could experience the pain she felt.
When sheâs out and fighting demons, one specifically targeting a family, she is attacking the demon every second she could lay a finger on them and she'd do it all by herself. Even when she's hurt, she'd be too focused on that one demon, blinded by anger, not at the demon but at herself. If she can't save this family or save anyone else, she probably doesn't deserve to be a demon slayer or even be aliveâŠ
"If I can't be strong, if I can't protect those in need, if I can't fix my mistake, what good am I?âŠ"
(Credits and thanks to @tinyevelyn for helping me a bit about her backgroundđ)
đSome Fun Facts!đ
-She was trained on using water breathing and that was originally gonna be her combat style. but when she met Rengoku and saw him practicing flame breathing, it piqued her interest, and asked him if he could train her, and he agreed. quickly the two formed a strong sibling bond overtime. During those training times, is when she creates Sapphire Blaze Breathing, to suit her more with her slight flexibility and spear combat skills.
- Rika is a fast runner and a bit flexible, she can fight easily and swiftly with her spear.
- Sheâs actually a very good cook! Happily helps aoi at the butterfly estate with cooking meals.
- She has cold hands and her body temperature is mostly on the slightly cooler side.
- Tends to get bashful when praised or complimented.

can you do a ficlet for ignorance is bliss snake with leah?
ignorance is bliss (2)
"morning wally." you greeted the swiss woman with a friendly smile, dropping into the vacant seat beside her with your tray of breakfast. "good morning, and where is your other half?" lia questioned with a raised eyebrow as you shrugged.
"around, i'm sure she'll be in for food sooner or later you know what she's like." you chuckled, the two of you falling into conversation about the luke coombs concert you were all going to later in the week.
"where's your wife then?" katie, amanda and stina joined the two of you as you finished off your toast and eggs. "she's just gotten here. good morning work wife!" you cooed, squeezing the irish womans cheeks who rolled her eyes. "ha ha, very funny."
"she's around." you once again shrugged off the question, turning your attention toward stina and amanda, chatting away with them for awhile as there was still no sign of
"i have to go see the physio before training." you excused yourself, grabbing your empty dishes. "yeah you better tape that ankle up tight, stina's out for blood." katie teased as the blondes face flushed bright red.
after a particularly awkward tackle earlier in the week at training with the swede your ankle had felt a little off, but after a scan you were cleared to train and to play, you just needed to listen to your body if anything got worse.
"ignore her stin! you know i said i wasn't upset, it was an accident." you cut off the older girl as she opened her mouth to likely ramble out her one hundreth apology for the week, having gone as far as to send you flowers which melted your heart, and softened leahs who was also ready to kill the poor girl afterwards.
"she might not be upset but leah is. maybe you should go and tape your ankle too in case big bad williamsons on the revenge tour." katie continued to tease as lia smacked her shoulder and you rolled your eyes.
"ignore her, she's just jealous you stopped a goal and its her fault her team conceeded one and lost." you smiled sarcastically, despite the tackle your team having come out victorious, katie unable to stop vic from scoring the winner in the last few seconds of the 11 on 11 game in training.
"oi!" you hurried off as katie scowled at you, blowing her a kiss and handing in your dishes with a complimentary smile, heading toward the medical room.
it wasn't more than two minutes later when your girlfriend stormed in, eyes scanning the room and narrowing further into her pissed off scowl as she was unable to spot you. "there you are! where have you been? breakfast is almost done?" lia scolded as leah arrived to the table.
"where is she?" the defender ignored her and asked bluntly, looking around the room but still unable to see you, but she knew you'd be here somewhere. "who? your missus? just missed her." katie shrugged unhelpfully as leah fixed her with a glare.
"physio. what has happened?" lia asked softly, grabbing the girls arm with a raised eyebrow of concern at her friends obvious sour mood. "can't tell you. i might need an alibi for once i've murdered her!" leah growled, shaking the swiss's hand off and storming away.
laura and teyah jumped in surprise as leah burst through the doors of the medical room, head swinging side to side and groaning as again there was no sight of you. "good morning!" laura greeted with a friendly smile as leah marched over, teyah grumbling the same though a little more hesitantly at the pissed off look on her team mates face.
"where is she?" leah asked, hands on hips as the physio responded you'd been taped and had just left to go downstairs to see one of the training staff about if they wanted you to do a specific program.
"is everything alright leah?" teyah asked with a frown, the blonde dismissing her with a mumble and a wave and zooming out of the room. "i think we might have a new regular in here with us for treatment soon lau." the blonde chuckled as laura hummed in agreement.
"hey there is a speed limit here you know." viv chuckled as leah sprinted into the gym, again looking around frantically and groaning, wanting to yank her hair out as again it would seemed she just missed you.
"she went out to the pitch." kim answered, sensing her and viv weren't who leah was currently after as leah mumbled something along the lines of a thank you and made her hasty exit.
"hey! eat this please." lia warned, grabbing leahs wrist as she zoomed past her, halting her in her tracks and shoving a protein bar in her hand. "leah." the swiss midfielder warned sternly as leah tried to hurry off.
with a huff she fell into step with her, ripping open the bar and taking an aggressively large bite. "are you going to tell me what has happened now?" lia questioned with a glance to her side, leah exhaling heavily as she finished her mouthful and they strode onto the pitch.
"fuck well it all started this morning-" leah started to explain however as she glanced up and her blue eyes locked onto the back of her head she was once more fueled with rage. "leah!" lia groaned as she dropped the remaining half of her protein bar and sprinted across the pitch toward you.
"what have you done this time?" beth questioned suddenly as you stretched, giving her a confused look. "what?" you asked with a frown. "well your girlfriend is flyin over here and she looks like she's about to kill you in five, four, three-" beth started to count down as you stood and glanced over your shoulder, eyes widenening.
"oh no you don't!" leah chuckled as you tried to run, her body hurtling into yours and taking the two of you down onto the grass, rolling and wrestling around before you were pulled apart. "mccabe, move." leah warned as you hid behind the irishwoman.
"katie, stay." you warned, hands grabbing her waist. "work wife duties, sorry lee." the brunette shrugged, leah scoffing and lunging forward before jen and lia pulled her back.
"right okay what has happened? explain!" lia ordered sternly as you peeked over katie's shoulder, stepping out from behind her seeing the firm grip jen had on your girlfriends bicep.
"whats happened? whats happened? go on then, tell them! tell them what you did!" leah scowled, pulling against jen but having no luck. "i didn't do anything you didn't deserve." you shrugged simply, diving back behind katie as a human shield as leah broke free before jen grabbed her again.
"okay enough! you first, go." lia ordered, fixing leah with a stern glare as she opened her mouth to protest. "she made me fucking walk to colney this morning!" leah pointed at you accusingly as lia looked at you in shock.
"don't start on me wally. she's being dramatic, as per usual." you scoffed, leah letting fly a string of choice words in your direction, her language creatively colorful. "explain." lia sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose like a disappointed parent.
"well as we all know miss fast and furious williamson over here has her license currently suspended, for what? repeated speeding offences!" you huffed with a roll of your eyes. "which makes me the driver in the relationship."
"but she is the worst backseat fucking driver in existence! babe you're going top slow, babe you're going the wrong way, babe just listen to me i can get us there faster, babe i'd like to get there before i'm thirty." you mocked your girlfriends thick accent with a scowl.
"and this morning i had enough! so yeah i stopped on the side of the road about two minutes from colney and made her walk. and until she apologizes and learns how to be a silent and respectful passenger, she will continue to walk everywhere!" and with that you stormed off, joining a few of the other girls for warm ups as far away from leah as you could get.
"leah, the poor girls doing you a favor and this is how ya treat her? i'd make you walk too!" katie remanded with a shake of her head as leah groaned and jen let go of her, the blonde dragging her hands down her face.
"nah you don't understand how frustrating she is. she drives like a grandma well under the speed limit, never listens to my directions, takes the longest routes just because thats what the gps says. she stops at every single orange, gives way to everyone and lets anyone merge even when they are an absolutely pushy asshole about it." leah vented in frustration.
"so she is...a safe driver." lia asked bluntly as leah scoffed repeatedly struggling to come up with a response. "leah. you lost your license for speeding, something she was always warning you about. what would you do if she ever got into an accident?" lia questioned as her friends face paled.
"i don't ever want to even think about that." "right. so then how do you think she felt worrying about you anytime you were behind the wheel and speeding without a second thought?" "yeah alright, you may have a point." leah groaned realising she was the one in the wrong here, her previous anger fast dissipating away.
however now it seemed to be your turn, as despite her many attempts to talk to you throughout training you blanked her at every chance you got, right up until the end of the day where you'd dropped her gym bag at her feet and striding off without a word.
"need a lift?" katie had asked with an amused smile, twirling her keys around on her fingers as leah sighed deeply but nodded, following her out to her car.
"good luck." the irishwoman chuckled as leah mumbled a thank you as she dropped her off, dragging her feet up the driveway. she let herself in with her keys, nose hit with the scent of lavender from your diffuser and hearing the telly going in the living room.
kicking off her trainers and hanging up her bag she gripped the flowers in her hand that she'd made katie stop for, padding over to where she found you laid down on the lounge, already showered and changed.
"so i might owe you an apology." leah started, your head whipping toward her with a hard look. "i do owe you an apology." leah quickly corrected herself, moving to stand closer. "i am very very sorry for being a shit passenger and a big mouthed backseat driver." leah apologized sincerely.
"it's my own fault that i've not got a license and i need to be grateful for the fact that you do and that you drive me everywhere. i love you and i promise that as soon as my license is back no more speeding." leah promised, eyes shining brightly as you sighed, unable to stay mad at her for very long.
"are those for me?" you asked softly with a nod at the flowers in her hand. "beautiful girls deserve beautiful flowers for putting up with their girlfriends nonesense." leah held them out to you as you sat up and accepted them.
"don't forget their girlfriends stubbornness, recklessness and overall downright sometimes just annoying behavior." you spoke but with a smile so leah knew you were only joking. "yes, that too. are we okay?" leah worried, sitting down beside you as you nodded.
"yeah, we're okay baby. but if you ever tell me how to drive again i will not even hesitate to actually make you walk all the way from here to colney." "understood my girl, very much understood."

Hear me out.. happy Golden Retriever bf x broody black Cat gf, but it's Jason Grace x daughter of hades reader đđ
*à©â light of my life, where are you?
content: jason grace x daughter of hades! reader
â°ââž warnings: none (until the ending oopsie)
librarian's annotations: IM SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG ANON AND JUST SKIP THE ENDING IF U DONT WANT ANGST
maybe it was your gloomy disposition, or the fact that you were a daughter of hades, either way, most people avoided you like the plague. you didn't mind it all too muchâyou were usually one for solitude.
that was until you met jason grace. you disliked him from the start. dislike, not hate, because you couldn't bear to hate the person who always stuck up for your brother. but he was too bright, too overbearing for you. very much not your style.
(that's what they all say at the start)
he was just too good to be true! how could he be all these things everyone claimed him to be? they just had to be exaggerating.
but when he flashed his dazzling smile and tender gaze, you knew that all the rumors were true. even so, you pried your eyes away from him. you would not be wooed by a roman so easily!
jason did not make it easy for you. he followed you around camp like a lost puppy. he tried to be subtle, but his tall form wasn't exactly hard to spot. you went to your cabin? he followed you to the door, claiming he wanted to see nico. you went to the training grounds? he picked up a lance and started examining it a little too hard. when you finally confronted him about it, he just laughed sheepishly and scratched the back of his head, saying, "i was trying to work up the courage to ask you to be friends."
how were you supposed to not like him after that?
despite your lack of romantic endeavors, you were sure that friends didn't do what jason did. he opened the door for you, made sure you ate proper mealsâand sure, those acts were pretty "just friends" level. but he also tied your shoes, put flowers in your hair, and hugged you so warmly whenever you were feeling especially down. you felt the unmistakable flutter in your heart whenever he did those things, instead of your initial distaste for him.
your confusion was answered the next evening. you swore nico had muttered something about jason being the only guy (besides him) he'd trust with you, right before telling you to go into the woods. "there's a surprise there," he had explained. "just trust me, okay?"
the sun was starting to set, its rays darting between the leaves and casting a soft glow on the grass. "go to the woods... can he be any more specific?" you muttered, before you caught a familiar head of blond hair in the corner of your eye. you turned and walked towards him, brushing away the branches as you did so.
"y/n!" jason beamed as he caught sight of you entering the clearing. he straightened up and messed with something behind his back. he shifted his feet and pulled out a bouquet, offering it to you shyly. "i asked the dryads what your favorites were. do you like them? did i organize them properly? are these actually not your favorites and they were just lying to me-"
"jason." you cut him off and smiled, taking the bouquet and smelling the freshly picked flowers. "i love them, thank you."
he swore his heart stopped. your smile was the most gorgeous sight he's ever seen. you were like an angel; why was it that no one thought to make you smile more often? he met your content expression with a wide beam of his own.
"really? i'm glad!" jason sighed in relief, before clearing his throat. "um," his voice cracked, face flushing red at that. "i wanted to ask if i could be your boyfriend? i just, you're so sweet and strong, and pretty... anyone would be lucky to be yours. but, i want to be that lucky guy, if you'll let me?" he looked into your eyes so earnestly, there was no other answer but yes.
"you know i love you, right?" jason whispered into your hair. your warmth brought him comfort in his otherwise cold cabin, empty and unfeeling, just like his father's attitude to him.
"uh huh. and i love you too." you mumbled sleepily into his chest. "but do you have to go?"
he laughed softly. "yes, i do." jason combed through your hair, silk between his fingertips. "i'll be back before you know it."
"do you ever think that we don't deserve this?" you whispered, eyes already shut as sleep slowly overtook you. "that we shouldn't have to fight someone else's battles?"
"yeah." jason rested his chin on the top of your head and squeezed you tighter. "sometimes i think that too."
shadows pried your eyes open, then slipped around your heart and squeezed. he was gone. you could feel it. you knew and yet you hoped and prayed that you were wrong. he was supposed to come home later, right? he would.
but the darkness settled in your stomach and weighed you down until morning.
and so you waited and waited, for nico's familiar shadow, or a chariot riding from the sky. what came was the former. you felt the comforting coldness of your brother's appearance, but jason's warmness was nowhere to be held. nico's dark eyes were rimmed with barely kept tears, his shoulders trembling with silent sobs.
"he's gone." your brother's voice was as dead as jason, as final as his last breath.
never had you begged and pleaded to your father so much; never had you needed to. never had you imagined a life without the sun, your sun. never had the ghost of your soul escaped in a pitiful shriek of agony, or became one with the dirt as salty tears.
and you knew, just as you knew death, that a part of you had died with him.

Hey so, I was wondering if you could do a f/f hero x villain snippet, where the hero is in a super secret relationship with the villain, but, despite the villain explicitly having other goals, betrayed and used the hero, the hero still loved her? Until one day the hero gets so tired of it that she leaves the city without a single world and villain goes after her? sorry if its too specific
"Where are you going?"
Part of the hero had expected it, but it still didn't make it any easier to hear that voice in her motel room. Her shoulders tensed. She kept her gaze trained firmly on unzipping her bag.
"Hey." The villain's voice sharpened. She crossed the room, taking hold of the hero's wrist. "You can't just leave. What the hell?"
The hero yanked her hand back. Her head snapped up.
The villain stopped, at whatever expression it was that she saw on the hero's face. She wet her lips. "Look," she said, gentler. "This is silly. Just come home, alright? We can talk about this."
"I don't want to talk to you right now."
"Baby-"
"Don't." The hero's jaw clenched. "Don't you even." The hero looked back down again, pulling out her toiletries and night clothes. It was easier than looking at the villain; flaying herself raw with the memories and the longing and the awful truths that she should have accepted so very long ago. "Just go. If you ever loved me, just go. Please."
For a second, she thought that might work. At least, she'd thought the villain might temporarily back off, maybe get another room and try again in the morning.
(She wasn't sure if that would be a confirmation of love or the lack of it. Did it matter anymore?)
The villain crouched down in front of her, studying the hero's face. Her eyes flickered.
"I really hurt you this time, huh?"
The hero swallowed.
They'd had so many arguments, the villain and her. There had been times when she'd been furious that the villain simply couldn't seem to change her ways, change her plans, not even for the sake of the two of them. There had been yelling and cold demands and promises to do better. Apologies pressed on honeyed lips.
"We're more important than the world," the villain had said, kissing the hero's head. "You're my world now."
But that hadn't been true.
There had been times when she'd broke her heart over the villain. She'd wondered if it was her fault, somehow. If she needed to try harder, love better. She'd wondered just how bad things had once been for the villain to so compulsively choose victory over kindness. Revenge over love. Her plans, over the hero.
"Of course I love you," the villain had snapped. "I just don't see why love means I'm the only one who has to change. What about you? You're not perfect! Crying in an argument is super manipulative, you know?"
All that was left was tiredness. A hollow exhaustion.
"Yeah," the hero said. "You win."
"This isn't what I wanted."
"Well, now you know what it's like to have your lover not care about about what you want."
"You care." The villain said it with such certainty. She reached out to cradle the hero's jaw in her hands, delicate, like she was incapable of any pain she might cause. "You've never been able to stop caring. You're caring right now."
"Maybe. But I'm still done."
The villain's grip tightened.
"You're not done. We can't be done."
"Go home."
"Not without you."
"Why?"
"What do you mean why?" The villain's eyes turned stormy. "You're mine. I'm yours. We belong together."
"And do you still find it good? Us?"
The villain stopped short again, as if she hadn't expected the question, as if she hadn't even considered it. Her hands dropped to her sides.
"You used me," the hero said. "I loved you and you used me. Do you understand that?"
The villain stared at her, uncertain in the face of the hero's tone. The tectonic shift of it. "I love you."
The hero shrugged.
"You don't love me anymore, is that it?" the villain demanded. "Because I don't believe that for a second."
"Sure, I love you."
"So come home. Baby." The villain surged to bestow a kiss to the hero's forehead, as if enough sweetness could once again wash away all that was bitter, or at least sufficiently mask the taste of the poison. "We've got over worse than this before. It's just how we are, you know? We fight. We make up. We don't just - you don't just leave."
The hero had wanted to simply slip away. Let it go without another fight she wasn't sure her heart had the energy for anymore. Of course the villain would never allow that.
There was always a final battle, wasn't there?
And the villain would stay no matter how cruel the hero was to her in turn. It was the way of her. But the hero didn't want to be cruel. She'd never wanted that.
"I don't think we're good," the hero said. "I don't think we've been good for a long time now."
"I'll be better."
"You never are though, are you?"
The villain swallowed. Tears flooded her eyes.
"I spent so long thinking that my love wasn't enough." The hero reached up, despite herself, to wipe those once-in-a-lifetime tears away from the villain's cheeks. Then she stood, looming over her very own perfect monster. "But it was. I was. And yours just isn't anymore."
The hero plucked up her things and made for the bathroom, pausing in the doorway, glancing back. The villain knelt on the floor, her head bowed as if for the slaughter. The hero summoned up the very last of her strength.
"You've always been so good at keeping secrets, but you're not keeping me anymore," she said. "Don't still be here when I come out."
She locked the door of them for good.

sit on my lap while you do my eyeliner - bakugo x reader
i can't find it now, (i will tho if it kills me) but this is inspired by this tumblr post i saw on my pinterest that was like " 'let me do your eyeliner' gf and 'okay sit on my lap while you do it' bf" lol
pls enjoy xx
bakugo loves your makeup. (he loves your natural face just as much, but he also thinks you look drop dead gorgeous no matter what.)
his favorite days are when you pull out the eyeliner pen. when you look at him and your eyes are rimmed with black, bringing out the hue of your irises, he just folds honestly. subtly, because his pride is too strong to let anybody see him so weak for you, but you've definitely picked up on it.
he loves anything you do with it. a wing, big or small, a messy grungey outline, drawing hearts or stars, anything. he loves watching you do it with such attention to detail and even more loves seeing the finished product and how it might have changed the shape of your eyes. whether it's soft and cute and gives you little doe eyes, or sharp and cutting like a knife, pulling your eyes into dangerous (& admittedly sexy) slits, he adores it.
he doesn't show it much, though. he's not as bad as compliments as you thought he'd be, really, but this is just a bit different.
he can call you pretty, gorgeous, hot, whatever- all he wants. there was no problem there. especially, in front of other people. it was almost like bragging to him.
like once, in the middle of a conversation with the bakusquad, he caught your arm as you were walking by just to press a kiss to your cheek and tell you that you looked beautiful. of course he meant every word of it, but there was a silent emphasis on the fact that he was the one you got to tell you that, and that it was very true. it was like his way of being able to say, "suck it, extras, that beauty is my girlfriend," without sounding like the cocky douchebag he usually did. (bc he knows you don't like it when he's such a cocky douchebag <3)
but complimenting such a specific part of you was a bit more difficult, and he wasn't quite sure how to articulate it. he knew he liked it, but he wasn't sure why. he just thought you looked sexy and sweet like that.
like you did today.
it was one of those lazy saturdays for the both of you, where you slept in a little and kind of just floated through the day, maybe go out maybe not, maybe make out on your bed, who knows.
it was close to half past ten when you were finally up and at your vanity, doing your makeup for the day. your boyfriend was spread out and taking up most of your bed while he studied for the test you had on monday. you thought he was a bit of a nerd for spending one of his only mornings off on school, but you admired his dedication.
neither of you liked silence much, so soft music filled the quiet in your dorm, along with the occasional page turn from bakugo, usually followed by a sigh.
you capped your eyeliner pen with a huff. you had been looking at your face so long, it was hard to tell if it was even. "hey babe?" you turned your swivel chair to face him.
"yeah?" he didn't bother looking up from his book.
you pressed the closed pen to your cheek and blinked a few times. "does this look okay?"
he glanced up for a moment, doing a double take when he saw you. there was no concealer on your dark circles and your eyeliner was smudged underneath your eyes and your lips looked a bit cracked, and he could feel his stomach swell with butterflies the second he looked at you.
"yeah, its.. its perfect." he looked away and cleared his throat, hearing you chuckle slightly.
once you turned around in your chair, his eyes were glued to you. just watching you sort through your makeup tray, trying to find something. the way you knit your brows together, your bottom lip stuck out- his quickly averted his gaze back to his book when you turned to him. he could feel your eyes trained on him as he thumbed the corner the pages.
"hey katsuki?"
he hummed in response, still not looking at you.
you stood up and slowly sauntered towards him, smirking when his eyes flicked up to you every few seconds. you took his book and set it aside.
"the hell are you-" he clenched his jaw when you leaned close to him, still standing. he dropped his voice to a soft tone, just shy of a whisper. "what're you doing, huh?"
"can i do your eyeliner?"
he chuckled and smirked. "'course.."
you grinned and took a seat next to him, your face heating up as his hands found your waist. he lifted you up and set you on his lap, wrapping his arms around your torso and holding you close. his smirk grew as a blush crept up your cheeks.
"just as long as you sit... here." he pecked your lips, mindlessly stroking his thumb across the skin just above the waistband of your pants. "you can start whenever, babe, i'm not stopping you..."
you huffed and bit the inside of your cheek, internally rolling your eyes. his cocky smirk softened a little when your fingers delicately cradled his jaw, turning his head slightly.
"close your eyes..." you kept your voice low, watching his eyes flutter shut.
his skipped a beat when he felt your breath on his lips. he took deep breaths, just inhaling whatever lotion or perfume had you smelling so good.
you bit your lip and did your best to keep your hand steady. it was hard to keep the lines straight when he would squeeze your hips occasionally. but you prevailed nonetheless, keeping the ink close to the rim of his eyes. you were going for a sort of rodrick look.
"okay.." you clicked your tongue and capped your pen, setting it to the side. "you're done~"
he opened his eyes slowly, a playful look dancing across his features. "well? how do i look?"
your breath caught in your throat. his red eyes glowed, half lidded and staring right into you.
"hmmm..." you brought a hand to his chest, the other messing with the hair at the base of his neck. you traced small circles across his skin. "handsome."
"yeah?" he took your cheek in his hand, pulling you closer to him. "that all?"
you shrugged and chuckled a bit, watching his cocky grin return.
"hm, you think i'm hot. coulda just said so..." he pressed his lips against yours softly, which quickly changed to a rough, demanding kiss.
looks like you did end up making out on your bed,,
